Trying to create more 'living' environments. What do I mean by that? Read to find out more!

Hi!

I've decided to attempt to create more 'living' environment.. This is something I've been thinking about over the last months; ideas on how to make the environment feel alive and not just like a bunch of dead objects in a game-world.

You, as a player, should feel as if the environment is interacting with you as you pass through it. That there is a 'hidden world' going in there, wheter you are there or not. Hopefully I can deliver on this idea.. :)

What you are going to see is basically 'unpolished' examples - because showing the final thing might be more fun to see in-game, rather than at this website. Ultimately the meaning of it is to give you guys an idea of what I'm hoping to achieve.

First off I've created a propaganda AD for the station:

Secondly, an example of how the lighting in an environment might change during gameplay:

So there you have it! I'll hopefully come up with a few more, but if you have any ideas - or things you'd like to see post them below!

When the lights are shutting off/on, they should be either faster or slower.

Lights flicker on and off really fast, and if it's one of the bulbs that fade away, it should be slower.
The way it is right now, it just feels "off", but that's my opinion.

I think the flickering was a bit fast and bright (I'm assuming cause it was a test =P). But it felt like they turned on really slow for such a Clack Clack Clack noise to fit them.

Thanks guys :] I've made some changes to the lighting and sequence since the release of this video. Will probably return and tweak these areas several times before the release of the mod. Been working on a few other events, and at the end I think things will come together nicely!
