Afer release of Beta 009, we continued our work to another update article.

Hi folks!

It's been two months since we released Contra 009 Beta 2 version, and we can only say that we are very happy with your feedback, and with approximately 100 downloads per day.

We are also glad to see more people being active on Tunngle and our Discord channel. We apologize for not being active there, since we are occupied with our work for Contra, but you can discuss things there with some other people, and arrange games.

As you guys play and report bugs, we fix them and improve things.
We fixed obvious Ratel II overpowered state, Centurion bonus damage and so on. Everything with purpose to make game even more balanced and enjoyable.

But we also proceeded with our scheduled work. It's important to note that this is not a patch update as some people are thinking, but a news update. Let's get to it.

This time we are more focused on GLA.

- GLA Chemical general got a new structure, Chemical Lab, which replaces both Defiler and Bunker.

Chemical Lab holds important upgrades for Chemical general. This is also the only structure which can spill toxins around, on your demand. Lab can launch both toxin and acid clouds anywhere on the map. Structure is available at rank 3, but requires Palace.

- Next one is Demo Scorpion

It was about time to change the old model right? We are focused on Demo general, since he has serious problems dealing with other generals. Demo Scorpion has better primary damage, and his standard suicide weapon. But, new addition is the demo charge, which Scorpion leaves on the ground when destroyed (not suicided). Demo charge can deal serious damage to tanks and infantry. It is a very good addition when your forces are retreating, or when attacking. Demo charges will block enemy units from advancing forward, or from chasing your units.

- All GLA generals got one version of Technical which replaces all old variants.

This means also for GLA Chemical general. Chemical general now has Wasp available from rank 1, as AA unit. And Technical is now conventional rank 1 transport unit. His weapons are fixed now and get proper bonus from salvages.

- Last but not least, is visual update for China Bunkers. Previously, their garrisoned versions just had additional housecolor blocks, which were ugly. Now, it is improved with sandbags and wires.

A few errors, possibly causing mismatch errors have been found. We are testing for mismatches as well.

ThePredatorBG analyzed and fixed some errors in Skirmish and Challenge AI, as well as usual bug fixes.

Chemical lab is much needed addition, these old buildings were ugly (not to mention that bunker was a civilian asset). I like the updated Technical, although it'd be nice to have more visual variants of it, maybe even the old good van and Defender with a fresh new look. Nice update for the bunkers, but the sandbags look more like boxes, sorry.

Yeah, chemical lab's good. Wasp at rank 1 is good too. Standardized technical for GLA's also good! New scorpion too!! So juicy...Contra isn't a mod really - it's what Generals should be.

i think the Scorpion Tank needs a emprovement in the mod make it like a variation of the Black Market Tank of Generals 2 for all Generals with a Nitro upgrade and i think the Efreet and Bomb Trucks needs a Nitro upgrade so they can get to their targets faster and the Battle Bus should be recreated and make it look like an armored School Bus or a variation of the Battle Bus in Generals 2 but overall the mod is so good and enjoying it thanks

The game should be more relastic...i mean the tank are the most important
unit in the game...and the troops act like rats...please i wish if it be like Company Of Heroes 2

"We are trying to detect and fix mismatch errors as we play online matches. I know for sure that certain errors in the INI code can trigger a mismatch (have experienced, tested and fixed some errors). But there is no permanent fix for mismatch in Generals as most of the time it occurs randomly. Ask any Generals competent person with modding experience, you'll get a similar answer. Whether AI increases the chance of mismatch, I can't tell, maybe it's true. What you can do is be patient and wait for future versions where mismatch chances may be lowered."

This chemical lab is obviously worse looking than defiler and bunker before, new scorpion is so ugly (unlike old cockroach), not to mention technical and bunker...ugly AF.
And i agree, they are redundant...those units were not present in Contra before, so dear modders please STOP! You SUCK!

And now in case you didnt understood sarcasm...please tell me which model exactly is uglier than its previous version, which thing is redundant (was not in previous version). And which bugs did you encounter (considering they are not released yet).

Great mod!
but the game is old and sometimes makes crash. It is annoying if I forgot to make a save. I would be grateful if it's possible, to enter an autosave on every X minutes to choose.

This is Awesome game!!I've been playing Red Alert & Zerohour 'Generals2 Mod' and I ended up to focus playing with Contra...Hell yeaH!!!Because there is so many Units to choose here specially in combaT battle also sOme tacTics you wanted to play.

Hello,
thank you for this great mod.
I played the challenge(as SW) against Flame-General (Contra009 Beta 2).
In "Easy" you deleted 'AtmoLens' in the script.
But the Flame-General rebuild it after a few seconds.(Now it was hard)
I tested it with a 1500sec timer and that was easy enough for me.
(I'm not a good player)

in my game the stealth general and assault general did not play like insane mean these two army just make two or three building and make only few units please help

its been a looooong time since this update is not finished

and the worst thing is half of the buildings cant be sold -_-

my ideas:
add sell button
add armor general who use heavily armored units to defeat enemies(if u can)
add more shaders to the game to make it more realistic

Hi, I really love this mod, the ideas and everything but there's one thing that somehow takes away its immersion at least for me is the GLA's music in the background ( Only the singing male one ) I can't help but find it annoying after awhile. This is may be personal preference just my opinion. I could switch back to defaults but I love those new music in USA and CHINA. Anyways, congrats on your progress. Contra's been my favorite mod since 007. Keep up the good works :)
