George Carlin
"The God excuse, the last refuge of a man with no answers and no argument."

"Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money!"

"Tell people there's an invisible man in the sky who created the universe, and the vast majority will believe you. Tell them the paint is wet and they have to touch it to be sure."

"And finally, I've always drawn a great deal of moral comfort from Humpty Dumpty. The part I like the best? "All the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't put Humpty Dumpty back together again." That's because there is no Humpty Dumpty, and there is no God. None, not one, no God, never was."

Christopher Hitchens
"That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence."

"Human decency is not derived from religion. It precedes it."

"Our belief is not a belief. Our principles are not a faith. We do not rely solely upon science and reason, because these are necessary rather than sufficient factors, but we distrust anything that contradicts science or outrages reason. We may differ on many things, but what we respect is free inquiry, open-mindedness, and the pursuit of ideas for their own sake."

"To terrify children with the image of hell, to consider women an inferior creation-is that good for the world?"

"To 'choose' dogma and faith over doubt and experience is to throw out the ripening vintage and to reach greedily for the Kool-Aid."

"I suppose that one reason I have always detested religion is its sly tendency to insinuate the idea that the universe is designed with 'you' in mind or, even worse, that there is a divine plan into which one fits whether one knows it or not. This kind of modesty is too arrogant for me."

"Organised religion is violent, irrational, intolerant, allied to racism, tribalism, and bigotry, invested in ignorance and hostile to free inquiry, contemptuous of women and coercive toward children."

"The person who is certain, and who claims divine warrant for his certainty, belongs now to the infancy of our species."

"Name me an ethical statement made or an action performed by a believer that could not have been made or performed by a non-believer."

"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion."

"Take the risk of thinking for yourself, much more happiness, truth, beauty, and wisdom will come to you that way."

"I'm not even an atheist so much as I am an antitheist; I not only maintain that all religions are versions of the same untruth, but I hold that the influence of churches, and the effect of religious belief, is positively harmful."

"...if that were true it would mean that I had an eternal, supervising parent who would never die and let me get on with my life, let me grow up, keep me under surveillance and supervision every minute of my life and constantly ask me to be thanking and praising him. I think that would be like living in North Korea."

"The atheist position is the following—most of the time: It may not be said that there is no God; it may be said there is no reason to think there is one."

"Religion is the most perverted system that ever shone on man."

"Question with boldness even the existence of God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear."

"Religions are all alike - founded upon fables and mythology."

"Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. Ideas must be distinct before reason can act upon them; and no man ever had a distinct idea of the trinity. It is the mere Abracadabra of the mountebanks calling themselves the priests of Jesus."

"Science is interesting, and if you don't agree you can fuck off."

"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."

"To surrender to ignorance and call it God has always been premature, and it remains premature today."

"There is a cult of ignorance in the US and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

"Man's unfailing capacity to believe what he prefers to be true rather than what the evidence shows to be likely and possible has always astounded me. We long for a caring Universe which will save us from our childish mistakes, and in the face of mountains of evidence to the contrary we will pin all our hopes on the slimmest of doubts. George Carlin:

The God excuse, the last refuge of a man with no answers and no argument.

God, the Infinite Intelligence, can provide sorts of any answers, along with arguments. Even one small portion of intelligence that man has can provide millions of answers.

Who and what is a man completely without his intelligence?

George Carlin:

Religion convinced the world that there's an invisible man in the sky who watches everything you do. And there are 10 things he doesn't want you to do or else you'll go to a burning place with a lake of fire until the end of eternity.

THIS PLACE is a fffuuuu HELL because people MURDER, STEAL, and DESTROY each other in various ways, and ignore each other's needs.

So if you mean God that gave us all 10 commandments, this very God was right. We're are in this purgatory and hell called the Earth.

People pirate stuff from the Internet, steal from each other, murder, and then they WONDER why the world is a sick circus, and everything is the way it is.

For example, it's funny how people destroy their beloved video game developers with piracy and then wonder why these companies go bankrupt and down.

Commandments were tools to teach us. It's humankind's problem they fail to use them or they completely ignore them.

We make this place hell when we break commandments.

Is that not clear?

False religion needs money. God has no need of it at all. There's a difference between God and Mammon.

And if we were truly altruist, we could do wonders, whether with or without money.

You can think about all the money that goes for military research and development of destructive, assault-only equipment and technology. (There's a difference between peaceful technology that can be used for defensive, combative purposes and aggressive technology used only for wreaking havoc.)

If the US alone dedicated 20% of its current military budget on peaceful solutions and development of peaceful technology for everybody, as well as well-spent and well-distributed relief efforts to other countries, the planet would quickly become a paradise.

Thomas Jefferson:

Let's just say 'V for Vendetta' for now:

"By the power of truth I, while living, have conquered the universe."

I like these quotes a lot. Mostly because they apply to religion as much as they do to anything else. Ironically, in using them to disprove religion, you show an, at least partial, lack of understanding for what they mean: I don't think that Jefferson and the other guy meant to say that religion requires that you ignore reality and is thus wrong, but that understanding reality requires skepticism - not asking questions is what is wrong.

It is the man who attends church on Sunday and school the next day who is really following God.

I added "By the power of truth..." simply because I am quite fond of that quote and this is a Humanist group as well.
