For the first time ever, Cinema 4D users may now export reference SMD files (versions 9.6 and up) for Source Engine mods and games.
The current version (v0.00.001) does not export animation sequences, an animation smd exporter is in progress at biomekk. Since biomekk.com also has about 5 other (not free) plugins in development, I strongly encourage c4d users to email Chris if you would like to speed the development of the animation smd exporter.
Please send an email to darrin if you would like to help test the animation smd exporter or have any other questions.
Yeaa now i can't modeling to source, thank you
And whats wrong witj splines ?
there is nothing wrong with c4d
maya is more usseless imo, to many things stuffed in wrong places
just my opinion, the only reason why i am trying to use it is to exporrt stuff to xray
and you can model for games with c4d, i did it (for xray tough)
C4D is a useless program for making models in. The only good thing that its good for animating and even then its still probably better to use maya. C4D is spline oriented.
C4D is one of the easiest and most powerful modeling tool in the industry. BodyPaint 3d is the #1 choice in UVW editing software for it's flexibility and overall ease of use. It's very bold and closed minded to say it's useless compared to all the other tools. I use it. Probably the best modeling program i've ever used.
bull crap, cinema's polygon modeling tools is one of the most quick and powerfull in industry.. and most intuitive.
wow that´s really nice! Kepp up the good work!
how about smd importer plugin for Cinema 4D ?
always good to see people make hl2 more modable.
Sadly this tool isn't updated anymore.
So it'll work only for R11 and below.
I've used it a lot, but now i need to convert my models back to R11 each time.
There's an alternative called I/Ogre, it's a commercial plugin but with a very reasonable price, the ability to export animations and it's working in R12 too.
