Release Date Trailer - Indie DB

Pre-order now on
Available on Steam at Launch date, October 16th, 2012.

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a First-Person Slasher with a multiplayer focus. It is designed to be
the first game that truly captures the feeling of being on a medieval battlefield as portrayed in epic hollywood swordfighting movies such as Gladiator, 300, Troy and Braveheart.

Cast aside your guns and grenades and pick up swords, shields and battleaxes in this competitive
multiplayer FPS. Never before has sword fighting or the medieval era felt so real, with incredibly immersive battlefields created using the Unreal 3 Engine and a brutal, violent combat system that is
worthy of the dark ages.

Siege castles, raid villages and assassinate enemy nobility in the ground breaking Team Objective game
mode that has players complete iconic medieval actions to win the match. Playable in 1st or 3rd person, with a wide range of brutal medieval weaponry ranging from pitchforks and maces to viking axes and longbows to promote a variety of playstyles. Chivalry: Medieval Warfare delivers fast-paced tactical action that ruthlessly portrays the intensity of medieval combat.

i asimply can't imagen that this game is made by 5 indie devs.
The trailer above does show clearly AAA game quality.

I'm in the beta and i can tell you that there is already 32 player servers. I've even seen some 64 (but they weren't full and seems to crash rapidly).

Stugs, first of it is 32 players if that wasnt a typo and then they will surely try to expand as much as possible, but as for now their servers and machines cant handle over 32 players =) But they will surely try as said !

Stugs Sep 23 2012, 2:25pm replied:

sorry typo, 32. I mean its the Unreal Engine, it should be able to at least handle 48 players in a server. Could you imagine the awesome chaos that would ensue!

AoC was a fun mod and Chivalry just takes that and seems to boost the experience well beyond expectations. Fantastic work guys, look forward to playing.

Looking very good indeed, but I must say you should probably not do slow-motion trailers if you're experiencing those weird jittering issues on the player movement. It makes it so much more apparent that something is off with the animation system.

I certainly like what became of that good ol mod.

However, what is the point of the preorder? I see no advantage in it. (unless you pick the 50$ preorder, but that is ridiculous.)

Trying to get 20$ (50-30) from ppl just for the beta-access doesn't seem right. Other games normaly already give you beta-access for a regular preorder.

TBH, that mindset might even convince me not to buy it at all. Haven't decided yet.

On the same boat here, 20$ extra for beta access is quite ridiculous. Beta access isn't even a perk or privilege of value for that matter

Glad I Pre-ordered, only thing is that the game is called Chivalry Pre-Order. The Name of the game will change when it's out yeah?
