Post news Report RSS Challenge Completed - M0B1US Submitted to App Store

Three weeks ago we set ourselves a challenge of creating a game in just three weeks. Did we succeed? Did we fail? Are we jetting off to a sunny island?

Three weeks ago we set ourselves a challenge: design, create, and release a game in just three weeks.

People said we were crazy, that it couldn't be done, and we were in over our heads.

Actually, that's a lie. Everyone we spoke to was very supportive of the idea and wished us nothing but the best; it was all rather humbling to be honest.

But have we completed the challenge? Have we designed, created, and released a game in less than a month?

Well, yes and no.

Technicalities
Yes, in that we have designed and created the game in the space of three weeks. M0B1US is complete, and the version which currently exists is one we're immensely proud of. We do have plans to expand on the game, but we're saving those for future updates. What matters is that within three weeks we created a game that we think and hope people will enjoy playing.

No, because as I write M0B1US isn't actually available to download from the App Store. We submitted the game to Apple around half past seven last night, and we're now waiting to learn whether or not it will be approved. We had hoped to submit earlier in the week, but we took the decision to polish and refine the game that little bit more.

And given that the average time it takes for an app to be approved is around 6 days at the moment, if we had wanted M0B1US to be available this week it would have meant submitting it at the start of the week, and frankly the game wasn't quite ready at that point.

But seeing as though we have submitted M0B1US to the App Store we're going to say we successfully completed our three-week challenge. That seems reasonable, doesn't it?

What's next?
Now that M0B1US has been submitted and is out of our hands, what are we planning on doing next?

Jetting off to a secluded island for some rest and relaxation?

Of course not! Our next order of business is to create a launch trailer for M0B1US, and get cracking with our next title.

Yes, we're already planning our next game (which isn't Lucid Runner!). I can't say too much at this stage, but I'll leave you with a one-word teaser.

Boxes.

Thank you! We still can't quite believe we managed to get the game finished in the space of three weeks! Hopefully people will enjoy the game, even though it didn't take very long.
