Post news Report article RSS Feed Buy Zomboid – Get indie game Homesick – Save a life

Chloe Sagal, a valued member of our community and fellow indie developer, needs life saving surgery to remove a piece of shrapnel after a car accident, and if she doesn’t have it removed it will be fatal.

Posted by lemmy101 on Apr 3rd, 2013

She released a wonderful little game called Homesick, along with a donate button, with the hope of raising the money to be able to afford the surgery. Sadly the game got direct links sent around and thus her chances of making the money were seriously scuppered. You can read more about this here:

We would love to help out, and were discussing how much to donate to the indiegogo, when we came up with a plan to be able to give as much as possible. Certainly more than we could afford to currently. As such we've made the decision to give all proceeds from Project Zomboid on Desura for the next three days to her Indiegogo campaign. While this would normally not be that much, we're hoping this will help encourage more people to help support her campaign, and spread the word.

We've not asked Chloe herself if its okay to do this, since as the indiestatik article shows, she's received enough vitriol from certain quarters for asking for money for Homesick, so we want to just do this and get her the money she needs ASAP. Time is very much of the essence.

So please, purchase PZ today, and we'll ask Scott at Desura to announce our sales for the next three days (from today, including what we've made so far) to make sure the amount we give is accurate. So buy copies, gift them to their friends (all will be Steam redeemable) and spread the word.

Buy it here.

Forum post here.

Love you all! <3

I have already donated to her but might do it again here.

Well shows good character on you all for looking out for other indie developers.

So far I can not speak highly of you guys and it is a very heavy gesture to give the proceeds to Chloe.

Hope many more people see this.

I will do my part and spread the word.

If other people see this not only purchase a copy but spread the word as well. Help Chloe either by donating on her site or on here.

If I buy PZ in this window, do I get Homesick as well? The post title and content is a little ambiguous, also, how do I get Homesick if applicable?

Homesick is available as a free download but technically it's meant to be paid for by donation.

You can consider the cost of PZ as the donation for Homesick, so it's PZ you're getting for free rather than Chloe's game.

I've bought PZ, hope she gets better! I wish I could afford to give more but unfortunately, £30 for the zero special features one is out of my price range for almost anything right now :(

My Cheap *** was originally going to wait for this to appear in a bundle of some sorts, had to donate though after hearing about this story. (Mighty generous of the Project Zomboid crew also).
How much was Homesick meant to originally cost anyway? Will probably "buy" that as a contribution on the Indigogo Campaign also.

All the best.

I was going to wait until it was officially on steam but this was a good cause.
My son's been wanting this for a while, now he has it as of yesterday.
