The wait was just long enough for all kinds of crazy bets to be made, but time to cash those in, because the Black Mesa Trailer is good to go and up for viewing! You can download the high resolution version straight off of Monkey-Junkie's website and or stream it right here on ModDB. We hope this gives you a small taste of what the game will be like, and we hope it was worth the extra wait!

We also forgot to include some great Power Up shots by Kim Dahlgren, so be sure and check those out on our media page! This officially concludes our media release, but not future updates! And as stated in the trailer, the days this mod stays in development are truly numbered. Hang tight, because at long last, it is coming.

And stay home for 2 days an play it straight, take my sweet *** time and look at all the details an everything

Then move on to Half-life 2, then Episode 1 then Episode 2

I must say that this looks awesome, and as a hardcore Half-Life fan, I cannot wait. However, just like this trailer, I encourage you to not rush it. I know that for me personally, I would rather wait a couple more months and have this live up to its potential, than have it released too early and be only a mediocre game.

Here's a list of Source games that includes the Source SDK base (which is what you need in order to run Source mods). Store.steampowered.com

Cheapest option being Half-life 2 Deathmatch for $5

And an even cheaper option for Nvidia Graphics card owners is this promo, old but still valid Valves' Nvidia Hardwarepromo maybe some one has the ATi link still sitting around?

Just tested this myself to confirm that it works on its own and with mods. Even if your machine isn't nvidia powered I'm sure you can create an account and register on a friends computer :P

OkeiDo Dec 1 2008, 6:57am replied:

The free HL2DM versions you get from Nvidia and ATI offers does not include the Source SDK base which is what they need to play mods. So the cheapest way for mod playing is $5.

Actually I tested this out by making a new steam account with nothing on it but the ATI offer, and it let me use source sdk.
