We want to start this news post off by saying a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge thank you to everyone who voted for Berimbau in Phase One of voting for us to reach the Top 100. It's an honor and a privilege to be in the company of mods like Black Mesa. We're really excited to show you what we've been working on, and hope that we can live up to the standard you guys have set for us!
New Member
We'd like to welcome Jussi "JAL" Laakkonen to the team. He's joined up as a prop modeler and will be helping to 'prop'ulate our maps to give them a much more lived in feel.
He's already gotten himself immersed in work, and we'd like to show off a couple of his Work In Progresses:
A Sword Rack model JAL is working on, and on the right testing it in-game.
A pedestal for placement within a Chinese garden.
We'll have some screenshots of JAL's work in Ztormi's new expanded maps as we gear up for multiduel.
New Character
David Boyle has been hard at work concepting another character for us. She goes by the name of "Pure" and is a cyber-ninja type character. I'll let his illustrations do the rest of the talking:
Beta Testing
We're going to be pulling more testers into the fold as we tune the mod more and more towards being as user friendly and accessible as possible. Therefore, we've opened up our Steam Community and are asking anyone interested in playtesting Berimbau to join up. We'll be inviting players directly from the Steam Community to test the game.
Addendum - We've reached around 50 testers now and are interested in doubling that number, so if you want to try out Berimbau early and give us your feedback to help shape the game, join the Steam Community!
Mod of the Year
We were lucky enough to make it to the Top 100 Unreleased Mods of 2008. We thank everyone for their support and it's fantastic to know you guys are watching our mod so closely. We now ask for your vote one more time as we enter Phase Two of voting, where the Top 100 are narrowed down to 5.
