that's probably because the Lego Batman was inspired by this one. In the final mod he will hopefully be more high-poly and have some visible eyes behind that mask.
And maybe a little bit by lego men...

I love the art style, but the model needs way more polygons, better bump map, ect, ect.
Make the cape a physical object it will look much better.
