So there haven’t been any updates on VJISP for a while. That’s because a while ago everyone (so, all four of us) got really busy. Some of us got jobs. One of us got a good job and will probably never have to worry about jobs ever again. Basically, real life up in here. You know us, though, we never want to stop making stuff, so we wound up using the seriously hardly any free time we all had to make something smaller, which we’d have a better chance of getting done sooner given the fact that life is a pain in the arse. I should note here that this isn't to say VJISP isn't still happening. We have a number of ideas for this smaller project, several of which revolve around balls.
That’s right, balls.
I remember getting a generally positive response to the way we used to constantly post every piece of progress we made on Shotgun Sunrise, some of you guys are super interested in the way mods get going, which is neat. So here’s a bunch of videos and general behind-the-scenes jazz illustrating what's gone on up to now.
We found ourselves making a puzzle game. It currently seems to revolve (in a literal way) around a player-controlled ball in a constantly shifting world, trying to solve puzzles. We’re finding it to be a super fun experiment.
Here’s a video. Watch it on Youtube for superior quality. This also shows the grappling function we’re experimenting with, which basically lets you leash an object to you so you can pull it around rather than having to shoot it around. Let us know what you think!
Like the art of this game. :D Though it looks slightly boring.
tracking for the awesome music and hinst in the tutorial :O
Very nice! Keep working on it! Would be great if you somehow introduced a character into the game, like a commentator or something like GLADOS on Portal, it would make it much more enjoyable and fun!
idea taken from a hl2 mod?
No?
yes

:)
Another game also having a rolling ball doesn't mean we took the idea from anyone. By that logic Rock of Ages is ripping us off.
assumin' that's even what you meant, that is
<3
This is awesome! I love the idea you have come up with.
It would be cool if you could make the blue laser used for pulling physical, like rope. I don't know if it would cause problems but would look pretty cool.
Also, did you use velocity or impulses to make the ball move? I've been trying to make something like this but don't know where to start!
