Introduction:
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Way of the Wolf
Official Announcement
It is August, 2011.
You are a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
Your name is Wolf.
From the creator of Call of Pripyat: Redux comes the first total conversion modification for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, bringing the Southern Zone into the modern Call of Pripyat engine!
Setting, Storyline, Synopsis:
Way of the Wolf will be set prior to the events of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky, prior to the Great Emission that radically changed the look of the Zone. The Southern Zone will form the basis of the mod, with the player taking the role of everyone's favourite rookie-trainer, Wolf, in his slightly younger days. Familiar locations such as the Cordon, Agroprom Research Institute and Rostok are making a triumphant return!
Corrupt Ukrainian army officials trade with illegal Stalkers at the border of the Zone of Alienation, selling surplus military supplies under the table to make cash on the side. Largely tolerant of Stalkers, regular soldiers will not fire upon them unless provoked. The same cannot be said for Spetsnaz units sent deeper into the Zone.
The fanatical Monolith faction have very recently left for the Zone's centre, and sightings have been seen of roving members returning from beyond the Barrier highly agitated and hostile.
The Clear Sky faction is yet to reveal itself to the world - its home in the Great Swamps is as yet inaccessible thanks to large amounts of anomalous activity.
Way of the Wolf will be a largely free-play gameplay experience, utilising the side-mission system of Call of Pripyat to great effect. Other benefits of the new engine include:
This news article is just a general announcement, more information will follow in the near future!
Big things are heading this way, Stalkers!

Well how can I say this... Wolves apparently cant survive in the Zone.. Dogs yes (dogs are awesome), but wolves no.. ;(
I guess you havnt seen the Discovery Channel show on Chernobyl exclusion zone. There was wolves, and mouses and sadly people.
Yep I know just stating "Game" conditions. ;D
I don't really watch Discovery Channel or TV that much anymore, but I went and found a very good documentary about it Youtube.com , I recommend watching it for anyone whos a fan
Cool idea, looking forward to this. Lack of definitive CoP mods is very annoying, Redux is the best and Ceano's used to be until it got bloated.
Now THIS is what I'm really looking forward to.
Sweet another reason to buy CoP, still playing Shadow of chernobyl, now a real reason to upgrade.
But the Cordon&co is the NORTHERN Zone, take a look to the sun cycle in Clear Sky :D
The CoP levels are the Northern Zone, Cordon & Co are the Southern Zone.
Take a look to the sun in CS: raise at the left and sunset at the right.
So it's northern zone and you walk to the south.
I meant by the game-map, but the in-game skyboxes are known to be incorrect.
Are you planning to merge the original ShoC levels together to make bigger maps, or are you just gonna reuse them like already a lot of (mostly russians) mods out there?
The maps will be separate, as in SoC or CS.
I take it that merging maps is too much work/impossible to do with the current tools?
Yeah, plus they aren't actually right next to each other - there is terrain in between the zones, as you can see on the main map.
Sounds nice! But how about a maplist?
With time, friend, with time!
I have nothing but great respect for the Stalker mod community... no matter what they make :P I wish you guys the best on this project
Am I the only one who's noticed this is a mod for Call of Pripyat, posted on the Clear Sky game page?
Relevant to all three as it will add levels from both other games, and is a total conversion rather than simple mod for the game :)
Regardless, I believe mods are only supposed to be filed under game's that they actually run on. You might be surprised how many people would get the wrong idea and think this isn't for CoP if they saw it on the CS game page.
Wow, I'm glad someone was mature enough to minus my post!
fixed
When will the mod be released?
