We are excited to announce that Wind of Luck: Arena, is to enter
the first stage of an open beta in the end of August.
Players will be able to control their own historically accurate warships to take part in
tactical team vs team battles of 10 players each; either by fighting random
opponents or joining up with their friends. These battles will take place on
stunning graphically realised ocean settings, each with their own tactical
challenges and conditions to overcome. The exotic locations vary from the
Caribbean Sea to the spectacular Isles of Sunda.
Each successful battle will award players with fame, expertise and currency (known as
piasters). The first two will allow you to upgrade vessels; plus the chance to
unlock special abilities and new ships. Piasters will repair your damaged and
war weary vessels and resupply you ammunition stocks; whilst also allowing you
to improve your performance by mounting additional weapons and equipment –
including cannons, harpoons and even catapults!
The team has gone to great lengths to keep ship design as historically accurate as possible.
Players can choose from a variety of ships from the age of sail; from tiny
Bermuda-rigged schooners to giant four-deck European line ships. However, the
gameplay has been designed so that player skill plays a significant part in
battles, meaning that even the smallest ship can send its gigantic counterpart
to a watery grave if the player’s skills are well honed.
