The Age of the Ring team is proud to present our mod's first official release: Release 1. This release contains 4 factions: Gondor, Mordor, Isengard, and Misty Mountains. Each faction has been completely reworked, with new units, heroes, structures, abilities, spells, gameplay elements, and strategy. There are also two new Create-A-Hero classes: Gondor Captain, and Gundabad Berserker, over 30 new maps, and new and original Ring Heroes.

Well, it doesn't wanna start.
I have installed all as per your instructions, several times, the issue remains the same.
The 2.02 v6.0.0 Patch, does start, always, however, after the installation of the mod, it simply does not.
The cursor blinks a few times, as if the process is launched, then it stops, and the desktop window is unchanged.
If I can provide some files, to remedy this, please feel free to ask for them.
P.S:
I have Bit-Defender Total Security 2017 installed, along Malware-Bytes Anti-Malware 3.1.2, and yet, the 2.02 patch started, to date, without a hitch.
I have added, both the folder, and 'lotrfbmeep1.exe' to the exclusions list, after mod installation, yet, it did not help.
Any suggestions, regarding a potential resolution, are welcome.

Hi. When installing, did you let it install into the suggested default folder? I just had someone install it into the RotWK folder and he had the same issue. Make sure you didn't do that.

Never-mind, I thought it was working...
It crashed, after a black screen, even with the new configuration.
I do not know what is wrong, but at least I got further than desktop this time.
There are no dump files, which is odd.
Like before, I added both the A.O.T.R folder, and 'lotrbfmeep1.exe', R.O.T.W.K folder, to exclusions list, in Bitdefender and M.B.A.M.
I am uncertain as to why it is failing.
Any suggestions, are welcome.

Did it crash after you entered skirmish?
No, before I could even enter the game. It is the same issue as before, with a slight change, which is the black screen.
It does not start, at all.

I don't know. All I know is you need the following:
- Clean install of BFME2 on patch 1.06
- Clean install of RotWK on patch 2.02
- Age of the Ring installed outside of the RotWK installation folder.
I suggest reinstalling.
I've re-installed the games, the clean versions.
After mounting Smoking Man's Maxi R.O.T.W.K image, as SCSI, it failed to register. The game still requires the DVD. It was mounted with Daemon Tools version 10.6 [Latest].
I am at a loss.
P.S:
Older versions of Daemons tools, Alchohol 52% and such do not work on Windows 10.
I guess, that's it, thank you for your assistance thus far.
It seams I won't be participating in this mod, any further.

Don't use the images, use their new game.dat.
It does not work with the new 'game.dat'.
Only the original, launched at all.
Still requires a disk though.
I've tried all I can, but as previously stated, I am at a loss.

I'm also having problems and I followed all the instructions, on both pages, clean installs, T3A Online, and I don't know what to do.
Also, I didn't mean to vote yet, that was an accident.

Game crashes when I want to open the Skirmish maps. I intsalled the game / mod correctly and don't have any other mods installed
Go into appdata, My RotWK files, and delete your skirmish profile.
Could you direct me where to find appdata? Is it in the folder of EA, then RotWK? Unfortunately I am not finding "appdata" in there so I believe I am looking in the wrong place.
Go to the address bar in any explorer window and type this "%appdata%" without apostrophes then hit enter. This will take you there without you having to go the long way.
Tried this. Crashes as soon as I make a new profile.
Move/delete your create a hero saves in the appdata folder.

Just played with all factions... will there be more balance fixes? combo hordes are extremely overpowering against AI, love every bit of detail you guys have added for each new building... the mod has a long way to go, can't wait to see the end result.

Well make sure Ring Heroes are enabled when starting a game. Other than that, you'll just have to be lucky I guess.
Perfect work with all evil faction (Gundabad unit is just perfect) Only shields of mordor orcs looks as paper
But I don t like Gondor its looks good but they have not enough unit they need more meele unit as Dol Amroth knight or Swan Knight for cavalary

The mod crashes whenever I try to do a skirmish. I've gone into my AppData and deleted the Skirmish file, but when the game prompts me to create a profile name and I put one in it crashes again.
Delete your CaH data in the Saves folder in appdata.
Is there a patch switcher for 2.01 and 2.02 rotwk? Can you have edain and aotr simultaniously? Without game.dat bugs? Thaks!
Yes, 2.02 comes with a launcher that can disable the patch. You can have both mods but you must disable Edain. To avoid game.dat bugs, copy out the 2.02 game.dat and return the old game.dat file to the installation folder if you want to play Edain.

You probably have a mod installed into your installation folder. You need to get rid of that and keep the folder clean (make sure Edain is disabled also).

From using the Misty mountains faction, I feel that the gundabad orcs are very strong in the way that each individual soldier is tougher than their counterparts of other faction. However, while individually powerful, there are so few in a horde that they can be picked off and killed easily. If I could make a suggestion, make the number of gundabad orcs in a horde ten instead of eight. Thank you for your time
Hi, how is it possible to play both edin mod and this? And how to install (if possible) to play both?
How is it possible? Easy, you disable Edain and enable 2.02. Before you install 2.02, disable Edain so you don't have issues with the installation.
I installed everything, patch 2.02 is working but after my mod installation I didn't get a desctop shortcut and now I can't open the mod.. Any help?
