Hey guys,
this time i want to aks you which kind of theme for the models you prefer.
First, i can just redo, all the models of the vanilla models, so they will look better, but similar to the originals.
But i want to test, how it would look like, when i do completely new models. I think of something like seen in the cinematic trailers from "the old republic", i really dislike the graphics of the game itself, but the trailers are so good. i know, that i cannot replicate the good graphics of these trailers, but i like the theme of the models, and i really think, if i try it, the new models will look good, and fit into the rest of the game.
Then i have to say that the update is nearly ready. Up to now, i´ve done all the textures of korriban, the only thing is, that up to now, i didn´t had the chance, to test it, because my old savegame on korriban is waste, and i have to play the whole game there, so i think the update will be finish at the end of the week. I think till then, i will have finished the starmapcave on dantooine aswell as the new lightsaber hilts.

you can do whatever you like, but wouldn't it be easier to make the originals?
As long as the new models are lore friendly - I am fine.
I think that more detailed versions will be better. Black Mesa proved that total redone will not necessarily hurt original atmosphere.
I think you could do a mixture. For the main characters, Malak, Carth, Bastila, Saul, etc... you should make higher quality, increased detail, versions of the originals, with random npc heads, and minor characters, I'd say feel free to do whatever you want.
I say increase the quality of the originals and do that cinimatic kind of style for them. so for this looks really beast!
Offer two versions, one basic so you wont go insane, and another where you remodel and completly revamp the gaming experiance. Because let's admit it, just about anyone downloading the mod has replayed KOTOR 100+ times by now, some variety never hurt. :-p Like them or hate them, the SWTOR empire armor models looked awesome imo, some inspiration there for dark side characters could be found. I'd look to games like Jedi Knight and Jedi academy for republic inspirations myself.
Finally, TSL Patcher is a must, if there is one mod I'd like to play with this, it is Brotherhood of Shadow Solomons Revenge. :-p
