Hey guys,
We've recieved some great reception following our debut on ModDB, in about 8 hours we got over 1,000 page views and were ranked #7 on the "Mods" list for two days! Wow! Anyhow, I am here to describe our new patch which fixes the materials for the HUD(Heads Up Display) ingame. Let me show you what I mean.
The materials for the HUD right now are configured to adjust quality based on your "Texture Detail" setting in your video settings. With this new patch, they won't adjust quality, and will look their absolute best all the time. Here are some images of how they adjust right now:
This is how the interface looks with the texture level on "Low".
This is how the interface looks with the texture level set to "Medium".
This is how the interface looks with the texture level set to "High".
The reason the quality of the texture fluctuates is because we have the materials set to have mipmaps and level of detail, which means they change according to your texture detail. With the new materials patch, they look like this no matter what your texture level is:
You can download the patch from these locations, and installation instructions are inside:

Enjoy, guys! Until next time.

That's pretty neat actually...could look better on lower-end PC's...
Indeed, but its just more annoying and I consider it a bug. Its good that its fixed now.
Lol...I didn't realize what it was...looked more like a hack or something. Never mind me people!
The text in the menu still suffers from the low quality settings.
What do you mean? Are you saying that with this patch, the quality is still bad?
Look at the text fields in the HUD, they're still low res and unreadable on low and medium quality.
@theJoker he means the text written on the "Menu", "Objective" and "Player" image (on the HUD) turn low res on lower graphical quality, which is obviously still an issue.
You can fix this by opening up the image file for those particular buttons with VTFedit and click on the "No Mipmap" and "No Level of Detail" settings. By doing this the text will be clearly viewable in all graphics settings.
I have checked the file right now myself. Tassadar, the files are correct and everything should be edited. If they aren't you have done something wrong.
sry, didn't try the patch yet myself...I just noticed that on the screenshots. ;)
