Something I want to share
Hmm, a feature announcement that couldn't wait... Well, I guess it could have, but I'm to excited to wait. Infection officially has a full-fledged director! It took a while to get it working properly in-game but it works and is ready to shine!
You get to use it!
Now that I'm done being overly happy about my work, lets get to what you care about. Infection is going into OPEN BETA! Yup, you read that right, Infection is going into the beta stage and we are not going to keep it closed off teasing you with pictures. We are giving it to you, or the multi-player at least, the single-player story mode is not coming with. Why? Because it's not done... by a long shot... okay fine it hasn't been started.
Anyway here's what we have to say right now, we are going to be releasing the beta through Desura! I'm not exactly sure how the entire process works but this will mean we can keep the players easily updated without the hassle of releasing on-top-of-your-installed-game patches. Yay?
UPDATE: We are aiming for July 5th for open beta release.
UPDATE 2: We aren't going to make it, but we're close. Give it another week or two, we will release an exact date in a few days.
UPDATE 3: We decided to wait on it, we are porting to a newer version of the source engine and are working on things to make the game better.
Map Creation
After the beta is launched maybe you will want to make a map? Everything you need from instructions to files needed for hammer will be released shortly after launch.
Servers
On launch day we will only have one dedicated server up, that is our fault because we have no money or spare computers, sorry. We will be putting out instructions and tools to host your own dedicated server shortly after launch. These will range from the basic server hosting things to batch files I've spent making to automatically keep the server up to date.

& BTW, Uhhm...My Desura does not work for me & nor does it let me log in when it DOES work.

I'll see what I can do. The problem is the game is going to be updated every so often and I want to be able to keep it easy.

So... it is released now? I am really excited and I've been tracking this mod from the beggining... great job guys, great job :-)
I just hope you put lots of player slots there. Because I want to play. And when I don't play, I get green. Just like Hulk.
I'm hoping some people will kindly host some dedicated servers after launch. My ISP doesn't allow hosting or I defiantly would be hosting my own. The one server we do have is my friends, he said hes willing to run it 24/7 so that's good.
The director sounds interesting and I cant wait for the open beta.
i just donated my computer to the cause! so hopefully 2 servers, but we could use more when this launches.
