2.1 News and New Site

We've continued our hard work to bring you a new patch, version 2.1 which is getting closer every day. Today I have a few things to update you on including our new gamemodes and maps.
First, let's start off with our two new maps which should both be included in 2.1. Both maps are by Jahhur, who brought us pvk_forgotten, I'll get on to their game modes after the media.

After release of 2.0 we gained a new team member, Crackapolly. He's been working with Akz on coding up a storm. They've both been hard at work on various things. Two of Crackapolly's main contributions (and there have been plenty) include some new game modes. First off we have Last Team Standing. This will take the place of Arena's original Deathmatch (Arena's also undergoing changes besides just this) and will be featured in Cathedral. It's quite an enjoyable game mode and the name explains itself.

The next game mode is a bit more complicated to explain but it's a push game mode. This game mode will be very customizable and essentially the mapper will be able to set a timer for a team and can call upon a win for the other teams when an objective is completed (Example: Destroying a specific object in the map, etc). As I said this mode will be very customizable to the mapper and I'm very excited to see it in action in some custom maps.

A third new gamemode will also make an appearance in 2.1, which Akz has been working on. This new game mode is called Holy Grail and will replace Booty Tag (Will be featured in Frostbite). This game mode is backwards compatible so current booty tag maps will not need to be changed for the game mode to work. Basically the Holy Grail will be picked up by the player just like the chest was in Booty Tag but rather than lugging around a huge chest the player will be free to fight. Holding the grail slows the player down slightly, but buffs the players other attributes as well as his nearby teammates. The grail will also be easier to locate throughout the map so no more hiding in a dark corner for 3 minutes!
