I didn't care for Darwinia... Convoluted game design and boring beyond the novelty.
Convoluted is the last word I would use to describe it. :s
in the sense that the gameplay types didn't mesh at all but instead were just clumsily jammed together into a steaming pile of sub-mediocrity.

When is the demo?
demo's already out. Thanks to valve, you can't get it from the origional site anymore. Just goole darwinia-demo.exe

Haha, wow. This game plays quite a bit better than it looks.
I downloaded the Demo, and I highly advise everyone to, and then buy the game.
The upgrading system takes a bit long though, but that was a short level without many virii.
This game rocks my socks off. Ha.
