The Zone of Alienation mod is an adaptation of the renowned AMK mod. It is built on top of a specialized variant of AMK that uses a magazine system. From this premise, it has expanded to aim to include the following:
Needles... I assume, healing process will be longer now, since now its more stuff to accumulate... No more medkit-whoring during firefights and coming out in one piece.
Well, for starters, medkits are now not able to be hotkeyed, but the healing portions of their spawned items can be.
Secondly, the parts of a medkit heal only a portion of the total medkit's value. For the first one the sum of hemostats and antiseptics equals the health restored of what the medkit used to be.
Third, thanks to Kaidonni's HUD mod, which implements the script used for medkits that LURK used, using the medical items un-equips your weapon.
Oh, and the last part of it is that medkits now have no healing properties by themselves, they are only used to spawn the contents within.
