The Zone of Alienation mod is an adaptation of the renowned AMK mod. It is built on top of a specialized variant of AMK that uses a magazine system. From this premise, it has expanded to aim to include the following:

I guess a variant locked in two-shot burst mode to simulate the 1800-rpm-crazy-accuracy-**** would be just overkill... =D

Some mods actually do this. They make the AN very accurate, remove the auto fire, leaving only the 2-shot-burst and change the rpm to 1800.

yeah, i managed to make one for testing...
removed the initial recoil value and added it to the additional shots (only one, in the 2-shot-burst case) as to simulate the delayed recoil system... with the 1800 rpm, oc.
but still feels a bit weird, as the 33ms time between the shots is just too ******* fast and require a bit of effort into hearing the distinct sounds.

Gusarov's sniper AN-94 is like that, I'm considering changing them all to that, since AN-94 isn't really used like a typical assault rifle in the mod.

Maybe I should make the tactical AN-94 at 600rpm.

Should be interesting to see... maybe balance the 2-shotters by a bit of the occasional jamming and higher repair costs? After all the "two bullets for the time of one" is some swift heftyness...

Plus, it must put some strain on the equipment !

AN-94 disassembled appears to have more simplicity than one would imagine.

Basically, the principle of it is that the barrel and receiver assembly move independently of the stock on a guide rod. The pulley and cable portion of it allow it to chamber a round immediately after the first one is fired before the barrel/receiver even finishes moving back.

On automatic mode, the first 2 rounds are fired the same way as the burst mode, and then it reverts to a lower firing rate similar to that of an AK-74.

Yeah, there's a video somewhere that shows the system in a moving diagram, some crazy designs they came up with !
Tough one to replicate in x-ray, tho... =/

Its pretty simplistic, but gets to the point...
