Hey guys! Here is a basic tutorial on how to install and get started with "Zombie Mod." This guide will cover downloading, installing, faction selection, and starting units.
1) Download the file.
- As of right now, there isn't a file ready for download, but keep checking the downloads section for the beta!
First, go to the downloads section. Find the most up to date file, and download it. Do not change the save as name, just save it in an easily remembered area.
2) Setup/Installation.
- Hopefully, when the final version is released, there will be an installer that installs the files for you.
Place all of the files in your Company of Heroes section (usually C:/Program Files/THQ/Company of Heroes). Now make a shortcut of RelicCoH.exe. Go to properties, and in the target line, after the quotes, add
...RelicCOH.exe" -modname Zombie
There should be a space after the quotes. Now all you have to do is double click the icon, and Zombie Mod should run.
3) Faction Selection.
- Right now there are only 2 factions: Survivor and Zombie.
As with regular Company of Heroes, choose your faction. To play as zombies, move to the zombie slot. To play as Survivors, move to the survivors slot. Its that simple
4) Starting units/Getting Started.
- The Survivors start with a basic survivor squad, while zombies start with a basic zombie squad.
The survivors need a Safehouse (forward HQ) to spawn any units other than the Builder squad. This is for several reasons. Firstly, survivors are hard to come by, so the safehouse attracts the survivors. Therefore, you can spawn survivors from it. Also, most early zombie units can be countered by survivors, so this makes it fair for the zombie player.
To get a safehouse, use your starting survivors to find an empty building, and have them get in. Then upgrade the building to a safehouse. Safehouses also heal nearby units and recharge their abilities.
Zombies, on the other hand, can call in any zombie squad from their HQ. The time it takes for them to spawn and move around makes it fair for both teams, as the zombies have adequate squads to counter the Survivors.
Well, that should be all you need to get started with Zombie Mod. Keep checking the downloads page for updates or new versions.

I edited the target properly, I extracted/installed it all to the right location, and it still doesn't work.
I used the Zmod short-cut as well, the game loads up as normal, when I try to make a "Skirmish against a CPU player" it comes up with an online game ^_~?
I've got the zombie hand as an icon in my game- for steam users you can put the "-modname Zombie" into "set launch options" in properties of the game.
but yeah, it won't work not matter what I do with it.

The normal game crashed and the zombie game popped up under it?
So, start it in normal do stupid **** till it crashes, and hope that it'l come up? :|
Zombies are pretty stupid (AI is retarded lol) and AI team mates tend to spam the **** out of builders (flame throwers are way OP imo)
can iget a video on how to do this cause i am trying so hard right now to make this work it seems to be that everyes games are in programs files but mines in programs files (x86) and i cant find the RelicCOH.exe its liek its not there. also i dled soem maps would appreciate if someone could sned me a vid on how to make it so i can use those maps

This mod is quite neat, but I have a problem. I've installed the Halloween release, and the christmas 2010 update. How do you set up a safehouse? There is no option to do so, regardless if it is in friendly territory, or number of initial survivors in it. What am I supposed to do?
I've also got a safehouse issue... Whatever I do it just won't build :(

i went to zombiemod website,attempted to download the beta 2,and than it when i moved my mouse over to it,it acted like i typed it in or something,what is the problem?!
Edit:oh wait,with the power of google chrome i solved it..so nevermind..
when i go to skirmish mode, it wont let me play, the play button is faded
