ZombieMod takes a unique approach on the Zombie Apocalypse by putting it in the perspective of a military commander, not a survivor. Since it is 2 years after the first infections, resistance on the east coast is organized, resulting in battles rather than small groups fighting for survival.

The name haha. This weapon is shaped more like a rifle or an smg than a flamethrower (which is essentially just a tube), so it seemed more fitting to call it a flame rifle than a flamethrower.

A flame rifle is essentially a flamethrower, but with cutting edge technology, the tube spitting the flame is actually rifled on the inside resulting in a farther maximum range.

well actually the rifled barrel would probably result in a donut styled spreading pattern so you would get a hollow cone of fire with less range. Awesome and impractical.

@griffinz you are right, flamethrowers do not fall under normal ballistics, I see you are trying to do something new here, but just calling it a flamethrower would seem less derpy.

Choose the backpack version.

I'd suggest using a backpack tank, if only to assist in visual recognition.
"Oh, hey, that guy has a big tank on his back. He must have a flamethrower!"

Why would you have a military grade flame thrower with the tank when your building it from parts you found? Im for the small portable flame thrower, if anyone is going to have the flame thrower with a tank it would be a call in military unit not base surviors

Description

A scratch-built flamethrower made from parts lying around, the "flame rifle" is a good boost to the builder's combat capabilities, allowing them to defend themselves. However, the fuel container has to be reloaded every once in a while, which can create a dangerous situation.

This is still a work in progress, and I am currently in the process of deciding whether it should have a backpack for the compressed air, or if the canister should be in the stock.
