Zombie Master 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 Patch - Linux Dedicated Server
Jul 25, 2007 Patch 0 commentsZombie Master 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 Linux patch
Zombie Master In Short
Zombie Master is a multiplayer Half-Life 2 modification, centred around a zombie-apocalypse, which throws all but one player in the shoes of human survivors. Pitched against a relentless tide of rotting flesh, they must scavenge for weaponry and equipment just to stay alive. But that one player, chosen randomly at the beginning of the round, is not bound by mortal restraints.
To speak his name is to invite the wrath of hell - but most call him the 'Zombie Master'. He is nigh omnipotent. His invisible hand controls the legions of undead like puppets on strings; slowly closing the net on the humans while they run to and fro like rats in a maze.
Features
Human team:
* A wide range of weapons to scavenge such as shotguns, molotov cocktails, rifles and more
* A number of challenging objectives that encourage players to team up and work together
* The ability to interact with the environment to build barricades and carry objects
Zombie Master:
* Real Time Strategy gameplay; create and command your own undead horde
* A wide variation of zombie units encourages the ZM to adopt complex tactics
* Environmental "manipulates" allow the ZM to interact with the world in devilish ways
* Mysterious powers let the ZM manifest his power in a more direct fashion... for a price

Wow! Really, really cool! I remember hearing about Zombie Master about... a year ago, Watched it, and now about a year later... 80%! And a cool video to show it!
I cant wait, its shaping to be really cool, like.... lets say.... a better Zombie Survivor.
After I played this for a few days, I was very satisfied, what you have here is so far an excellent product.
But there are some things that need work.
For one, the Zombie Master controls are still quite awkward, despite their alteration in the 1.02 patch. I really wish there was a wider variety of weapons as well, you wouldn't have to stray to from the "civilian level" weaponry that's being used right now in order to expand the arsenal. I also really ask that you guys consider heavily working on the zombie AI. Once that's been perfected, I think it would be safe to remove that ZM "Exploder" feature that destroys barricades, since a strategy I found useful is just using Shamblers to knock away barricades.
That would make the ZM have to apply a lot more strategy, instead of just having easy solutions to everything. Most of the time, a ZM doesn't play poorly because the human team is good, but because he can't hardly use his zombies as he wishes to.
My usual strategy when playing as ZM is to spam zombies nearby player populated areas, or around objectives so the humans can't get them. This works to a certain degree, but I mostly only ever directly order my zombies around in order to clog up escape passages or narrow alleyways or to trap humans within buildings (or to order Banshees after a human hiding in some ridiculous spot somewhere).
And this is probably more related to the maps people put out, but I also think that the objectives for a certain area need to be more clear, especially what is required, players now rely on memory for objectives, not an easy to read briefing. But as I said before, that's usually the map maker's ordeal.
Otherwise, it's coming along extremely well for a beta. For a mod so low under the radar, this is doing fantastically.
Not like they normally do, I mean as in they would always know where you are or something...
*Regrets posting before*
Is there any possibility of being able to play it singleplayer/2 person lan (2 humans against comp). Not asking for a storyline or anything, just some way in which the computer controls them.
Yeah, you'll have to reregister, we lost the database. But things are back in course.
No computer-controlled ZombieMasters are planned as of yet. You're better off with one of the other Zombie mods for that.
