Zion Warcry v1.0 Steam Patch
Apr 23, 2008 Patch 2 commentsThis is the Steam Patch released by MConnard the last year. He's working on a new v2.0 patch, so wait a bit, be patient and a full v2.0 of Zion Warcry...
Time has come for more updates !!!, thanks to SysOp this MOD have arise from the ashes just to reborn more powerful than ever. Now Zion Warcry´s a matter of the ARES development team ( a new formed Group on Moddb ).
The project was closed the last year 2008 because of technical problems that couldn´t be fixed. The new enemies, maps, etc ,were all stopped in their development, just letting some of them being non discarded because of their quality.
zion Warcry will finally be released as soon as some of its bugs are fixed and the zion map is finished with all the look and action seen in the original Matrix movie.
Version 2.0 it´s WIP actually. The v.2.0 is more a 95% coding and 5% modelling and mapping. It will take a little to be finished but expect very impressive things!!! This video down here was made with elements of this last version but IT´s not made with the actual version, v2.0 has a lot more new things. ;)

Since year 2004 there were a lot of work involved in this project, unfortunately I have arrived at a dead end where I was not abele to continue. So I decided to put a end to this. Fortunately, SysOp, former leader of the ARES group ( Argentina-España Mod Development Group )has taken the project as a personal duty, and soon he will start again all with all his skills working at a 100% to make this MOD as it was intended to be.
Although my first intention was to publish the SDK of this MOD, I decided not to do it because there are a lot of work to do before releasing it, and, since now, and considering that all work coming from SysOp will be his work and the v2.0 will be copyright SysOp, because all work involved in the new NPCs, the Enemies AI, new hud elements, and the final cinematycs of the Zion Map will come from his brain...the v2.0 SDK could only be published if SysOp will do so, because it´s not entirely my work.
I don´t know if I´ll release the v1.0 SDK, aiway, I prefer to wait that v2.0 be released, then, let the gods decide.
Sorry for the waiting, and keep plugged.

Yes it has singleplayer, create a game in lan and then add bots ( patch them first !! ), they aren't Einstein fellows but they are useful to play with. Aniway use the Manual Addendum to make game a bit easier...
where is this steam patch?
Wow it looks very nice, cool level design and superb textures.
I'm downloading it for sure!
Just a lil' question: Does it have singleplayer?
This mod looks really interesting, cool textures, i wonder how the gameplay/performance will be with hl1-engine.
Looking forward it :)
i hate to say it, but this sucks.
doesnt work theres a shortcut asking for hl.exe when i locate it it satrts the regular half-life
Yes...Kanga999, it sucks compared with other MODs, but, be merciful!!, I did it alone from coding to modelling passing trough 2D editing, sound editing, etc... Aniway, tell me what dislikes you and I´ll try to do it better the next time.
PS: I recovered some of the v2.0´s data from my last HD !!
Zion Warcry it's for WON users, aniway look here:
www.vossey.com
for a STEAM patch that fixes that problem.
I installed it but it installed in with the Sierra thing in my Steam Half-Life folder. I moved it out of there and it wanted me to replace some .dll's and I decided not to...
Then when I started up the game in Steam it had the HL1 background. I started a new game and it started me off at Black Mesa...and I was stuck in nothing so I couldn't see anything either. Should I replace those .dll's? It's hw.dll and sw.dll.
VERY BAD NEWS
==============
Due a system fatal failure, all progress regarding ZION WARCRY was completely lost, there are some pieces of the source and two map files that have been saved before the disaster.
Because of that, and because the last saved progress was the version 1.0, I think it's time for the MOD to be stopped in it's development.
Someday I'll return to it, but, now, I'm quite busy and I haven't got the time to restart all to arrive to the last modifications.
Don't worry, I swear I'll finish it some day.
Sorry, and VOTE FOR THIS MOD IF YOU LIKE IT!! ;)
