Dear friends,


first of all, we are terribly sorry for the lack of updates, and we feel that we owe you an explanation. Early in 2012, we had a very promising perspective on getting a "foot in the door" to achieve both funding and technical support for this game. Unfortunately, these plans did not work out, so we found ourselves back to square one and more or less had to start thinking and planning it all over again.

By now, the situation has improved a little, as there are alternative solutions taking shape. In the past months, we have been working on:

- code

- character models

- levels

- props

- animations

- music, and

- sound.

We're also very happy to announce that two new members have joined our team: Jamie Keen, a sound designer from the UK, and Patrick Hödl, a prop/texture artist from Austria.

You can see some of his work above, as he is the creator of the streamline locomotives shown in the newspaper.

For the next weeks, we hope to achieve another set of milestones in the development of Zeitgeist; we can't make any promises, but there is reason to believe that we can finish this project succesfully after all.

Will Prague really make it in this mod? It's my home city so I wouldn't mind taking a stroll in its alternative version.

Yes it will. You can bet on that ;).

As I'm a passionate fan of the city, I'll make sure that Zeitgeist's City of Prague will be as close to the historical real thing as possible.

As for the old source engine,just work within its limits, don't try to be over abitious and you will have a winner!

Devs, this must be the best HL2 mod so far. Previously i thought there would be no better mods than Insurgency or something, but finally appears one. Therfore, you must advertise this mod really wide. Then, succees is guaranted.

Your limits it's the engine itself. Switch before you notice. This is fantastic so far, but i believe you've already scratched alot on your mind, just because of the engine limits.

Hey,

part of what you say is actually true. We're having trouble with the engine limitations and much of our work is only caused by Source, its age and general design.

But we're also aware of the benefits of this engine; it's widely distributed, has great visual potential, the documentation and modding community unreached by any other engine - and, if things go well, there's always the chance that we will be supplied with the latest version of Source.

So all in all we're still betting on the right horse.
