So, we have lots of projects in the works. We have collaborated with some of the most talented minds in this community and all our coding projects have been solved theoretically. We are not approaching an implementation and testing phase, but we need some help from anyone out there who is XML savy.
We know exactly what we need to have done, but we have a lot to do. If anyone out there is familiar with XML coding and is just sitting around, come join us. Any assistance helps us finish faster.

No, due to game mechanics this is, as far as I know, impossible.

Sad times :( I don't think it should be that way to be honest, but I agree with WIC in that I don't think it is possible to code otherwise.

If destroyed hardpoints can't be healed than the repair ships will be useless, healing merely damaged hardpoints isn't enough for such a ship to be useful, unless you have only for example 4 hardpoints with high health. And seeing as most weapons on ships are moving turrets this will not be the case.

Repair ships will be useful, hardpoint health will be different than default game.

We would not include something that is without purpose in our mod.

Did you guys see the most recent screenshot nomada_firefox put up? Apparently it's now possible to either fix or work around the game breaking GC crashes.

Yes, I am very interested in how he did this and if it actually works, but that is his mod and we will take nothing from it unless we have explicit permission :D
