Designed to replace the aging Dreadnaught Heavy Cruiser, the Vindicator was just as well armed, but featured a full hangar bay and better weapon arcs, despite having few weapons than the Dreadnaughts.
Increased speeds and maneuverability made the Vindicator the true threat it was. The Dreadnaught cruisers were slow and sluggish, and while excelling at broadside attacks, they were severely hampered when confronted with more modern attack vessels such as the strike corvettes and bombers. The Vindicator fixed these problems by incorporating a varied arsenal of Medium Dual Turbolaser turrets, Dual Light Laser turrets and Rapid Fire Imperial Dual Blaster turrets for AA defense. The Vindicator also contained 4 light ion cannons located along the flanks within interrior weapon bays to help take down shields of stronger vessels, a weapon feature lacking on the Dreadnaught, and the Immobilizer.
Difference between the Vindicator and Immobilizer besides the gravity domes are the 8 additional Dual Light Laser turrets which provide better accuracy versus corvettes compared to the Dual Medium Turbolaser turrets, and the 4 interrior mounted light ion cannons.

So the Vindicator does make an appearance after all.
The Vindicator is a good all rounded vessel, but it is seldom used due to being outclassed by more modern warships. Considered to be a premier attack vessel when first designed, due to the rapid tech advancements during the Civil War and afterwards, the ship class quickly became out dated after the fall of the Empire and more heavily armed ships of similar size began to be designed.
The few Vindicators that remain in service can be found as escort ships accompanying Imperial Remnant Fleets and safeguarding the space lanes of Corulag.
The Immobilizer has a much more dirty texture, for Immobilizers were used much more heavily, and kept in service much longer than the Vindicators. The small size of the Immobilizer with its ability to carry the gravity well projectors made it a highly demanded ship, so they were patched up and kept in service much more.
You can view the weapon placement on the bottom 2 picture by seeing the 'green' turrets. There are 3 rapid AA turrets on each flank, 2 on top of bridge, 2 on bottom rear of ship. There are 8 dual medium turbos (4 top, 4 bottom) towards the sides of the rear of the ship, and 2 on top towards the middle bow. The Vindicator has 4 dual light lasers on top and 4 on bottom at the middle of the ship. I will be adding 1 more dual medium turbo to the bottom bow of each vessel, which is missing in these photos.
I really hope the star destroyer looks totally worn out from decades of warfare. With blast marks, missing panels and some dark windows.
It was a brilliant idea to give the Immobilizer a distressed look
