Behold the Yuuzhan Vong Army! This mod adds the Yuuzhan Vong Race as a playable faction and all units of this era. We are a community of modders working for the greater goal, so anyone who wants to help or support us is welcome!
Part of our process of creating a realistic and diverse universe, we are adding some notable freighters to space ports.
The goal will be to have neutral freighters flying around in space near space stations, and when they are attacked, they will try to run away from the attackers.
Wolf_2.0 did a great job recreating these, from left to right, top to bottom we have:
H-Type Freighter
Theoretikal Freighter
BFF-1 Buklk Freighter
CR90 added for size comparison
Please don't tell me there is a penalty for destroying these
A.I. destroys civilian ship.
Player has to pay for it.
That's how it beat me in RAW once...
The freaking civs on planet kept running into my tanks and getting flattened! Or driving their speeders into splash damage. Civs are a cool concept as long as the player doesn't have to pay for bad pathfinding
I never liked that idea in RaW, it was a flawed idea. Civs aren't going stay out in the open during a battle!
Well, in theory the idea is good...
...might even be better with just the right amount of tweaking too.......
Nah it's utterly terrible. Unless you remove all hitboxes so the civs are 100% scenery, and set them to neutral, that way nobody would have to worry about all the paying and pathfinding ********, that no mod can ever avoid. Bad game design petro, y u so bad with your pathfinding...
Well time will tell I suppose......
;)
It's really just up to the fact that petro decided to get lazy. With soooooooo many things. Modders try to improve all the **** they left out, or implemented in a lazy way but some things are just not fixable, like hardcoded ai pathing. If we could only just change the engine itself. Well I suppose at that point you could just make your own game, and leave the ****** alamo engine behind entirely. UP TO UNITY! :D
Actually, editing the ALAMO engine is allowable as long as it is not for profit.
So... Unless anyone has proof otherwise, there is no reason why the engine cannot be edited.
Really? Huh, and I thought moddifying the .exe was illegal. Well, this'd open up possibilities if there'd be anyone in the community capable of editing the engine itself.
Send out a message, find out.
There is a game in production, although I don't know how much work they do as they don't update often. It is in Unity, based off of EaW, and looks to be promising. Rulers of the Galaxy. Moddb.com
Yaay more freighters! Could always use more freighters.
Speaking of which I was looking at the original list of freighters you wanted models for and I noticed you missed one.
