I am not going to lie, this ship makes me nervous, but this is the purpose of our mod, to push limits, and break boundaries. This model is 91,000 triangles. It is the largest model so far in the mod. I believe some space stations might be a little larger, but don't know for sure without checking. I am told this should work in the game. My team assures me that size matters not, and that while we are pushing the poly caps, this should work...

The Viscount is a 1 time build hero ship. It is massive, but still not as large as the Executor (not finished yet). The ship carries fleet's worth of fighters and is armed with just about everything you can imagine.

The Viscount is the last line of defense for the New Republic. It is the rally point in which the Galactic Alliance is born from.

while we're on that subject, i think its safe to assume that the Designers took that little flaw into consideration.

seems to me that the Viscount is designed to eliminate the flaws of an Executor.

back-up shield generators could either increase the overall strength of the shield, or perhaps shore it up if it is in danger of collapsing.

a smaller hull means a heavier concentration of guns.

better electronics means that smaller craft can be engaged from a longer range.

better fighters mean that fewer fighters will break through the defensive screen to be considered threatening to the ship.

given that, i can imagine the following as being used

a shield dedicated to protecting the bridge from incoming fire

a heavier concentration of point-defense cannons near the bridge

a fully manned secondary bridge in case the main bridge goes down.

since the hyperdrive is improved, i can assume the sub-light engines are also somewhat improved, granting the ability to escape more quickly. lets say, 10% increase in speed and acceleration. for example, she could be in a gravity well of a planet, and ambushed by a superior force. since all of her fighters are Hyperspace-capable, she can launch them to distract the enemy fighters and flat out book it to the edge of the well without having to worry about recovery, where she can then escape and instead of taking say, 10 minutes, it might now take 9 minutes or something like that.

This ship is stronger than an executor. Maybe the executor has more guns. But in every other aspect this ship is fairly superior. Can take an executor head on wthiout even thinking about losing. To put it simply more and stronger fighters, far more efective shielding, weaponry is less in numbers but more advenced, armor is far superior, faster engine systems. This beast is made to beat the crap out of an executor or something like that. :D

So anything in the mod except a worldship is strong enough to stand against that titan of NW ? Maybe assertor or secutor mk2? How will hutt defend against something of that weight class, hero abilties, a fanon darksaber2 or sending mercenaries fleets like zerglings against it?

No ram ability, Fleet Commander Bonus, passive repair of nearby fighters, Anti-ship missile broadside, and a crap ton of firepower.

Nope, something different. More like a full broadside of missiles being launched. The little rectangular boxes on viscount and mediator are missile launch ports, similar to the corellian ship, punisher I believe ( the big one)

Just out of curiosity, are bombers going to be able to penetrate the shields of ships like vanilla, or are the mechanics different?

According to Burntstrobe:

Proton Torpedoes: carried by fighters, bombers and capital ships. can bypass shields. Short range. Damage scale = 6 to ships, 10 to fighters

Concussion Missiles: carried by fighters, bombers, all ship types. Deal great damage to fighters, corvettes and frigates, minimal damage to cruisers and capital ships. Short range. Damage scale 8 to fighters, 5 to small ships, 3 to capital ships.

Torpedoes - carried only by frigates and larger types of ships. Cannot go through shields. Long range. 0 damage to fighters, not targetable or very little damage to small ships, 8 damage to capital ships

Ballistic Missiles - carried only by capital ships. long range. Cannot go through shields. 0 damage to fighters, 8 damage to corvettes and frigates, 7 damage to capital ships.
