Behold the Yuuzhan Vong Army! This mod adds the Yuuzhan Vong Race as a playable faction and all units of this era. We are a community of modders working for the greater goal, so anyone who wants to help or support us is welcome!
The Bonadan Cutlass Patrol Tender
Developed to provide close support for patrols around Bonadan, the Cutlass was essentially a flying repair bay. 2 Hangers cabable of supporting 1 squadron of fighter was able to dock at a time for minor repairs. The Cutlass was designed to be able to fend off attacks from any aggressive raiding party with out calling for support by means of its 6 dual lasers and dorsal twin rapid blaster cannon.
Cutlass tenders were a common sight around Bonadan space, and due their quantity, there did not require a need for traveling far, thus having slow speeds. Lightly shielded by well armored, these small ships were floating safe havens for pilots under siege.
Special Ability: passive fighter repair
Model Design: Lord Enpremi
It's tiny and slow, but it packs a punch. Repairs fighters and launches 1 squadron of fighters.
Oh boy all these ships looks so cool.
I guess my head explodes for joy when i see my favourite ship, the nebula star destroyer^^
Burntstrobe has previously quoted that the entire 5th fleet will be present in this mod - you may be in luck :)
They will be pleasantly surprised.... ;)
Can we capture certain planets and we can build their own unique toys like if I capture Bonadan, I can build these repair ships?
In a way, yes.
More to be announced later ;)
This happens because it is logical that after the capture of the planet's most shipyards remains intact and can in a very short time to resume production?
You will be pleasantly surprised.... ;)
Is there going to be an advantage to using smaller ships instead of just building fleets of MC90s and Star Destroyers, or whatever the capital ship for the Vong is? In the game, and in every other mod, there hasn't been any really. Will there be in this one? That could be another way to balance.
I wouldn't quite say that in every other mod, all you have to do is spam capital ships. Thrawns Revenge is certainly not like this.
I've had a lot of success spamming the Phalanx Destroyers in that mod.
Try mine, ORAW, that penalizes you for spamming mass capitals pretty hefty ;)
One thing that will be interesting with this mod is seeing how they balance big and small units. In the original FOC, Nebulon-B's were next to useless - you always went with Assault Cruisers or MC Cruisers. In this mod I get the feeling that small ships will be more useful somehow (perhaps because big ships will be very very expensive).
There is a focus on frigate sized ships, I believe :)
We (I say we but again it's not my job) are trying to create a mod where it isn't about the size of fleet you can create, but what combinations of ships work well together. For example, some ships have heavy ion weaponry that will rip through shields and then, if the shields are down, disable a ship, but these weapons cannot penetrate armour and are awful against Vong bio-tech. Some ships have lots of long-ranged weapons, but will be compensated with weak armour, or so forth... tactics will hopefully be very important :)
Having said that, this does not mean that you can take down a fleet of capitals with a few corvettes... ;)
Exactly correct ;)
I was essentially reciting what you said to somebody else a few months ago... ;)
If we have Bothawuii do we get Bothan Cruisers
Yes :) there's an image of two of a Bothan Assault Cruiser in the images section, but it's a long way back!
