Did I mention, she's a beauty?
You don't need to. We can tell ourselves. :)
Love the model and the texture. Its your best yet. But I have one small problem
If this is the model for the Guardian / Lusankya
Where is the NR loge on the sides ?
Vignette.wikia.nocookie.net
No doubt it will be added at a later date. I’m sure there are far more pressing things that the YVAW team are focusing on at the moment.
This is just a generic Executor-Class Star Dreadnought - as generic as those get at least.
The Guardian and Lusankya variants will be revealed in due time.
But being brutally honest the NR Crescent Birds always looked somewhat stupid that way (and just imagine the amount of paint necessary) so we'll use our own unique take on them.
Guardian and Lusankya Variants? I thought those were the only Executer class left at this at this point?
I liked the NR loge. I think the reason they were there was to be used in a propaganda way. To instead of raise fear like the empire did. It Gave the ship some charector over the plain Star Destroyer White (or grey ) that the empire favoured
Lusankya had the logo, Guardian did not. There was also the Megador, a smaller SSD, but that was kept in reserve and not used until the SwarmWar
The Megador is described as an SSD with 13 instead of the usual 13 engines and and observation dome.
So it's probably an heavily modified Executor-Class.
Or maybe the retconned 8km Super-Class ... but that's not entirely clear.
Thanks Guys, But don't you think the NR would of put the NR logo in the guardian anyway to put "there brand" on it to ? Like they did with Captured Imperial class. Again SSD were consiseded a major symbol of the Empire and try NR it up when they caught one. Like they did with old Ties
But whatever you decide to do with it is cool. Again looking at what you did with your executors is awesome.
We could give the Guardian the blue logo... we will have to discuss internally
Thanks for liking our work :)
I personally think that the Lusankya should stick to its logos and the Guardian stay blank just for authenticity
does that mean we wont be seeing the Megador in the mod?
The amount of paint argument never sat well with me for any of the large SW ships. You're telling me you can mine enough ore and raw materials to make SSDs and two Death Stars...plus numerous other superweapons and the largest fleet in the galaxy...but can't find the minerals required to make paint?
True, just going by the logic for the Errant Venture.
Grasping to straws, because I really don'T like those big insignia.
Yeah, I figured you were referencing the Venture so I was too. I just always figured that the Venture's situation was more because Booster couldn't afford it or that he wanted it to look like he couldn't afford it...so that he could always hold his cards close, never letting other pirates (or more importantly, the New Republic) know how well armed it really was.
Personally, I love the Rebel crest and always thought the Lusankya looked awesome.
Wookipedia formulated it like this on the article about "Star Destroyer White":
"It was the only color of paint that was produced in enough quantities to be reasonably-priced for applying to Imperial II-class Star Destroyers. "
For the NR it's no problem to acquire the necessary amount of Red Paint to show that htis Executor-class isnow a sign of the Rebellion instead of the Empire.
For a smuggler like Booster Terrik, without the ressources of somebody like Karrde, though, acquiring so much red paint, that most likely wasn't produced in nearly as big quantities as the colour used for the ISDs, would've been realy expensive...
Megadors "current" status is the amazing retcon that is the Super-class. The downscaled Executor-cousin used to hide black projects and rarely ever built.
Lady in Red... Burnstrobe, what did I tell you about calling your artwork a prostitute? You don't know what she's been through to end up there.
Though if we are going to use the original reference from the Bible...
1 Timothy 6:9 The woman in red represents a more exciting life, she is a distraction but also a false promise of something better.
Interesting take on the New Republic ;)
Far gets deep... :)
And btw Far, as a designer in the industry, you know damn well how much ink costs and how the prices keep going up lol
Oh, it's beautiful...
