Chinese version of Yaodu105 (actually 1.10 by creator), and we are currently working on beta version of English version. (Since this is the first English version, we were actually too optimistic about the system setting and this took much more time than we actually thought.) Also the creator added lots of her quotes during the last several versions and we are trying VERY HARD to get them translated. Please forgive our tight schedule and poor English :(.

In the meantime, we invite you to download the mod and enjoy.

I am interested in the background of the new races. There is a written backstory, but its completely in chinese. If anyone could tell me, at least very roughly the story for the different new factions, that would be appreciated.
Specially the "Pixie Heavy" faction intrigues me. They have the emblem of the Fairies on their ships so they are related, but their playstile is so very diferent. From my experience they play like some rogue faction with access to very high-technology. Is that intented to be so? Are they pirates or outlaws, or some kind of paramilitary branch of a of megacorp, since they are also refered to as "Pixie Heavy Industries"?

Shadowrun in the Homeworld Universe? A fascinating idea.
Although I am not sure if you can call Renraku evil. To do so there would have to be any "good" mega-corps to compare it to.

You reach the 'no save point' by building the tactical module. The mod initializes some background components that push the engine to it's limits when that module is built. If you don't build it, your game will progress fairly smoothly and you'll still be able to save.

The Hiigarian ship are having too many Poligons so its lagging if too many ships are there !
Its the Homeworld 2 Engine -.-
But are remake will make it better ^^ So wait a bit and drink some tea :)

It's not the polygons that are the issue in the complex mod. It is true that the models do cause some stress on the engine, but the biggest stresses are the background components that are always calculating, and recalculating, and recalculating, some caused by the remote monitor, some by the fusion module, and some by the calculations that mount upon each other from the various researches.

If you've played the Yaodumod's campaign, you'll see that they sometimes have more ships on one map than you would ever see in a skirmish game, yet very little lag. That's because the background components that normally run in skirmish aren't running or haven't been initiated, like when the tactical module is built on the fairy empire's carrier. The coding it employs once that module is built is what causes the lag since it causes such a strain on the engine. Not exactly sure why (probably the coding employed for the immediate replacement of weapons), but it is definitely that module.

Good to know that is the cause. Kind of sad, since my PC isn't a beast to begin with, this extra lag makes gameplay far less enjoyable that it would be otherwise.

Save game is yet another issue, being unable to save while most of the games (for me) take more than 2-3 hours isn't exactly fun.
Do you know anything that could solve either problem?

Other than that, a little balancing is all this mod needs, it's one of my favorite if not THE favorite.

I have Homeworld 2 1.11 English version, I've got the 1.05 English mod with with the patch and I am pretty sure I've installed the mod right, I copied the files provided with the 1.05 and the 1.05 patch into the Data folder in my Homeworld 2 directory. All other races play fine, but if I try put in an Alos Empire bot or try play as Alos Empire myself the game session loads to about 95% and then the game crashes with no error message.

I managed to fix it slightly, I installed all versions of the mod available on this site. I'm now able to play as Alos, but not allowed to have Fiary Empire bots on any team. Hope this helps you, if you have already done that then I'm sorry I don't know.

You could try reinstalling your Homeworld 2 game, but that doesn't always work.

Beautifully designed ships. Improvements can be made to the balancing of some "uber" ships.

This mod is totally unplayable because the AI is somehow able to overwhelm you within about two minutes before you can get a single combat ship out. This happens even on easy mode, and so there is no way to learn how to play.
