You're a man named Danny, who just recently woke up from a coma. You don't know what's going on or what has happened, nor do you know how you got into a coma in the first place. Your best friend, Dennis, has visited you a couple of times while you were in the coma. He has left you a letter, trying to help you memorize what has happened. However... you get this strange sense that something has happened to him. You also have a strange feeling that something is watching and controlling your every move... What can all these senses mean? Not only that... but the home you live in... is cursed.

Two Year Anniversary [Sort-of] Post. After finally coming back to see how my custom story did, I wanted to thank you guys and let you know about something I had in mind.

Wow.

It's about to be two years since I last updated this mod. The last update I did was on July 29th, 2012. And it's July 18th, 2014 as of this post.

And well... ever since that last update, I never really looked at the reviews you guys sent me or the critique or anything. Reason being is because I was so ashamed from the stupid game-breaking bug that I could not fix for some damn reason.

But wow... from a total of 31 ratings, I got a 8.4 That's... very surprising to me, considering I thought my custom story ended up being a failure and a piece of crap. I mean, yeah, sure there were a few areas of the CS that I was proud of but overall - that damn game-breaking bug just killed my confidence.

Sure 31 ratings isn't "that much" but it's sure as hell a lot for me! And the fact that I got an 8.4 is even crazier. My first custom story and it got that good of a rating - that's just pretty unbelievable for me.

So you might be wondering "What brought you back onto here?" Well, some person I'm familiar with is working on his custom story, which looks really kick ass by the way, and I just remembered about my custom story. So I was bored one night and thought "Huh, I wonder how my custom story ended up." since I hadn't checked it since the last update. Boy was I surprised.

I thank you guys for the reviews, kind words, and ratings. I also thank those who actually did a "Let's Play" walkthrough of my custom story as well! That was really heart-warming to see, as I didn't think my custom story was worthy of a Let's Play.

Alright, so what's the point in updating this news post, and this moddb page that is about two years old? Just thanking you guys and all that? Well - not just that but... you guys remember this:

"But maybe someday I'll come back to it. Who knows." - From the Last Update, July 29th, 2012.
Well. I pretty much just predicted my comeback. Yes, I may be coming back to this custom story and doing a remake of it, this time, without any damn game-breaking bugs, hopefully. The problem is, from what I've seen [Like on the Frictional Games forums]: Amnesia is fairly dead. It isn't as popular as before, two years ago, which is definitely understandable. It lost it's popularity and all that because, well, it's old now. But that doesn't mean it's not a good game anymore! Nor should it mean people shouldn't create anymore custom stories for it! Amnesia is a game that should live on for more years to come, maybe not forever, but I say about maybe another 2 - 4 years. Although, good things must come to an end some day, and maybe Amnesia is almost to that day, unfortunately. But like I said - it doesn't mean people shouldn't create custom stories for it anymore - that's what made Amnesia... well, Amnesia. The custom stories people made for it is what made it super popular and amazing, along with it's original story itself.

With that said, it's sad to know how much the second Amnesia failed. Well, in my opinion, at least, along with a lot of others. Even some of the Let's Players who played the first Amnesia hated the second Amnesia. Some even just discontinued playing it because it was so bad. It just wasn't as good as the first one. But let's not get into this subject.

Back to the topic at hand - I do plan on coming back to this mod and remaking it. Now the other problem is: I completely forgot everything about custom story making. I forgot how to script, I forgot how to code things, etc. The map creation is very simple, so it'll only take me a few hours, if not, a day or two, to get used to the engine mapping again. But the scripting... oh man. That's definitely going to take a lot to remember and get used to. And with the Frictional Games forums being pretty much dead - help is probably not available anymore. So if I get stuck on something or if I wanted to know how something works or if an idea of mine would work - if it wasn't posted before, well, it sure as hell won't be posted now.

For all those reasons above, it's exactly why I said I may come back to it. Because if I just cannot get used to the mapping/scripting/coding, well then, there's no point in me trying to remake the custom story. There are also other reasons I may not be able to remake it - for instance, college is starting soon. Along with college I got to find a job. Basically - my "adult" life is starting soon, which will then make me very busy pretty much everyday. I obviously had more time to work on this when I was 16 back then, when I first worked on this. But now that I'm 18 in 2 days, that age signifies that it's time to get shit done in my life. The "adult" life, somewhat. At least, the beginning of it.

Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. I'll keep you guys posted if I do end up deciding to remake this or not. Or if I started to work on it. We'll see what happens. Again, thank you guys for the support, and thank you guys for the reviews, ratings, and critique - they really help.

P.S. I have a new username - SonOfLiberty796 [Had this for a while now, actually]. The old "Xvideogamer720X" is definitely gone now. God, every time I look at that name...

P.P.S. If you're wondering what happened to that other custom story I was working on [Case 10-00] I had actually given up on it because of reasons that I'm too lazy to type out. Also because my confidence was fairly low from, again, that stupid game-breaking bug from this custom story.
