Another year has passed and that means another version of Xmas is underway.
Xmas being mostly a 1-man team effort (myself), the time spent on bringing this mod to life was extensive. Seeing poeple make servers and playing is the only reward this developer gets for his hard work.
Also, being a seasonal themed mod, it's life expectancy is rather short. And other issues also prompted the next version of Xmas to be 1.1, which was supposed to be released shortly after 1.0 last year. But due to the lack of players, it was post-poned.
In short, Xmas 1.1 (released tomorrow) will be 1.0 with many fixes and changes to weapon balance. Here is the changelog:
-New Steam background and full compatibility
-No more zoom
-Magazine raised to 25 staples
-Slightly increased damage
-Grenades fly slightly farther
-Slightly increased ROF
-You can no longer reload to full (2 shells) if you have 1 shell left in reserve
Candy Cane Crowbar
-You can now hit poeple slightly farther from you due to the candy cane being bigger :)
-Fire animations are out of sync
-Reload animation jerky
Also, come December 24 2005, you'll be able to play Xmas on HL 2's own Source engine, as the development of Xmas on HL 1 will cease as of tomorrow.
