Xenowars is a first-person strategy sci-fi shooter that pits two races of aliens, the psychic Tal'shari and the brutish Kroetox, in an epic struggle for dominance of their homeworld. Along with these two alien races is a third antagonistic enemy race of primal animalistic aliens known collectively as the Ravagers. Players will play as either the Tal'shari or the Kroetox, with the Ravagers taking the role of npc nuisance against both sides creating a chaotic and exciting battle.
The objective is simple, destroy your enemy uterly. Kill all of their soldiers and all of their means to field more. Only then can you claim dominance over the battlefield and raise the flag of victory for your people.
Battlefield range from ruined cities, to underground cave works, to a wide variety of wilderness areas such as dense forests to mountain sides. Anything is possible.
To accomplish this goal, each team as a number of tools and resources available to them to aid them. The first and most obvious is an array of unique and purposeful weapons. Second, each team has access to a number of field structures they can call in and setup that will provide them the useful and necessary means to conducting battle.
During the battle, players will assume many roles. The two most important roles are commander and leiutenant. Each team will have one commander and may have a number of leiutenants. Each commander has access to the tactical overlay map, which is a realtime top down view of the battle field. This is used to give other soldiers orders and to tell logistics where they want a structure placed. It also allows them to survey the battle field, with the ability to see everything that his/her troops and structures can see. Leiutenants act as second in command. They are able to request structures that will be placed with the OK of the commander, and they can access the tactical overview map, but with limited access to what they can see being restricted to the camera being centered on them and unmovable. They exist to lighten the load of the commander's duties and provide a more flexible and ubiquitous force.
Other players can assume other roles such as heavy support, assault, fire support, standard, and scout, each having an important use and purpose on the field of battle.
Heavy support are troops trained to supplement a groups ability to take down enemy troops. They are armed with weapons that are very deadly to infantry.
Assault troops are geared towards point blank and hand to hand combat. They are armed with weapons that are devastating at close range and they are able to quickly change positions and overrun the enemy.
Fire support troops meant to add enourmous firepower to their group being armed with some of the biggest weapons that they can carry.
Standard troops are the backbone of each army. They will, in most cases, be the most numerous troop type seen on the battle field.
Scout troops are the eyes and ears of the army. They are usually faster and lighter than the other choice, but present a small array of unique abilities geared towards intelligence gathering and subterfuge.
In addition to these general roles, each race will have a number of specialists who posses special abilities they can use. Specialists are things like medics or engineers type players.
Each race will have different specialists, each working in different ways.
Along with the structures, weapons, and different roles, each team will be able to access a number of upgrades and other such things that will further enhance their ability to fight their enemy.
Xeno Wars uses a requistion point system for obtaining these goodies available to the players. Each weapon, upgrade, structure, and soldier, costs a number of requistion. Teams gain requistion by controlling areas of the battlefield, essentially showing high command that they are making progress and they can use more resources to take advantage of the situation.
In the future, we plan on making a bold move by expanding the ravagers into a fully playable race, and adding in the technologically advanced humans as a fourth playable race. This will open up a large number of possible game play situations. Four way battles, three way battles with an npc antagonist, two way battles with one or two npc, a battle with no npcs, etc.

Hoping to, really are. We have had a major slow down due to that nasty thing called life not being so kind to us. I haven't really had any time to study the source code or anything and we haven't gotten anyone who would like to help us. With summer coming though, I think major progress can be made!
Please try to finish this within the year, looks great.
