As final days before the XDM 3037 release are coming, the mod itself is being tested. To ensure quality and stability, testing conditions are getting from hard to extreme. LAN parties are rare, so most playtesting lies on mighty shoulders of bots. Humans are a rarity, you know. :) An overloaded map with 32 players is a usual sight these times.
Plasma gun is complete, weapon system is stable, HUD (and VGUI) is working. But still, you can never be too confident. New maps have passed QA control, details and materials are up to date.
Overall usability is considered to be much better by our playtesters. Bot AI has suffered >:D major changes. A few unforeseen consequences were observed.
Other than that, playtesting on several different machines revealed some major issues... With ATI drivers mostly. No, really, how can you expect 15 FPS on a modern Radeon HD 7800 series in a 10+ years old game engine?! nVidia performs much better.
As for the singleplayer, well, it's still in "when it's done (tm)" stage.
Well, at least we have almost zero crashes, countless frags and lots of fun. :)
Also, time is still playing against me, so no fixed deadline is announced. I do my best, really. (^_^)/
UPDATE: since VALVe released their updated Linux-aware SDK, XDM release will be DELAYED! :P
