Welcome to the October update for X32I - Redemption, we felt the previous month's update didn't reflect the quality of the work put into the models. So Ben one of our highly talented modellers really got down to some hard work and remade the wasp model entirely from scratch, and then also went and worked on the Thunderbird.
Thunderbird WIP:
Original Design: Richard Jeferies
Latest Design: TheMightySpud
Interior Cockpit: Bernhard Raml
Optimisation/Unwrapping/Smoothing groups: Ben Rymill
The Thunderbird is a prototype ship created by the United Earth Alliance's greatest minds. The ship is the one the player will fly in throughout the game. The Thunderbird is module based and can be customised by its pilots with new parts to further upgrade its potential as a frontline ship.
Note:
After last months update, we felt the quality of the media didn't reflect the quality of the model so apon further optimisations by Ben Rymill we have got to a stage where the model is now a final design, and is now ready for texturing and rigging properly in-game.
Hornet WIP:
Model by: Ben Rymill
The Hornet is the wasps bigger brother, produced by the same corporation for the Terran Chance. The Hornet is a heavy duty fighter capable of matching many of the UEA heavy ships out there. The length of the wings is adjustable and can extend to extend the sensor's ability at the cost of exposing sensitive hardware.
Note:
The wasp you saw in last month's update is going to look similar to this model however less bulky, as it's emphasis is purely on speed, and it's ability to scout area's and then send information back to HQ. The wasp you saw in last month's update is now 100% different and as you can see by the Hornet is already miles above the previous month's version.

Note:
So that's it for this month, we hope you like what you see and if you want to talk to us directly the best palce to post is on the official forums located at X32i.org
So thanks for looking and we hope you continue to follow this MOD. :)

Can't wait for you guy's to see what's coming in the next 2 weeks, it's going to push the team's skills to their limits, and will push the mod onto a whole other level.
Just as a note the November update is likely going to be pushed back, and merge with the December update. The Trailer is going through many many revisions, and we want it perfect before you people get to see it.
On the plus side, the December update is going to be huge, and hopefully you will like what you see.
Hey guys, glad you're liking it. Obviously we're not going to show you everything right now, as quite frankly, a lot of it isn't finished, we're a small team that can't produce at the rate of a fulltime, fullsize studio (although that allows us to escape the likes of EA; 'We OWN everything').
I mean its something that sinks in every now and then and almost scares me, even to produce a relatively decent mod, there is a LOT of work to be done; hell a scarily large amount of work that needs to be done before it gets anywhere, beyond what people initially think of; there's the audio score, the writing beyond a rough guideline of whats going to happen; Character development, conceptualisation, script, UI and stylisation, mission design, level design, concept artist, modelling and texturing, AI adaption and tweaking, mission triggers...the list really does go on and on.
With anything this complex, there's a hell of amount of work that needs to go into making it work, work reasonably well, and trying to polish off any bugs found, to make it something releasable...and when I say releasable I mean playable, not throw it on a shelf...patch it a week later as the attitude seems to be with some developers. Hell, we might need to patch it, but we'd rather have it playable from the off, and it's going to take one hell of a lot of man hours, effort and time to get it there.
You've seen the early footage; we have some exceptional talent, but it takes a lot of work to make everything come together.
Not to mention, we want to have things to awe and inspire you with at later dates; trust me, we have no intention of getting to a stage where we can't release this. If you've read SirBaron's blog, you'll see this version is almost a redemption project of his own, so it might be a year before you can download and play this; it might be even longer, but the mod WILL be released; and it will be at least competant when it is.
