X-Coop mod for Aliens vs. Predator 2

Hey friend, I need help, I can see that this mod can only be played on via lan and my friend and I do not have the opportunity to be in the same house, using the same internet to play in lan, as it would be possible to play in different places ?

When using this X-Coop Cooperative Modification with AvP2 there are downsides and limitations, and this is what Olde, one of the better known modders for AvP Classic 2000 had said about this AvP2 Mod:

"1. You can only play it through locally hosted servers, meaning you'll need each others' IP addresses and the host will need to forward the appropriate ports.

2. You can only play certain missions, you can't do everything.

3. Some missions are broken or only go halfway. It's poorly optimized.

4. The AI is okay for the most part but can be very buggy at times."

As for one it doesn't seem that big of a deal, if I play multiplayer I rather play locally anyway, although I have not been able to play locally in LAN Multiplayer games for a long time.

As for Number 2 through 4, it's expected since this game's Single Player Campaign was never meant for Cooperative gameplay and it had Never been officially supported in anyway by Monolith themselves to be fully compatible with a gameplay mod such as this one. So if you ever got co-op to work with AvP2, expect it to be buggy, difficult to play, and many mission are not possible to complete.

In other words, you cannot fully play through an entire campaign with another player. I hope someone would come back to this Mod and pick it up and try and see if they can do more and optimize and reduce many even if it is not possible to eliminate all of the bugs that are currently present.

I hope that when he said that a buggier AI would actually meant that sometimes players can take better advantage of them to beat them and complete those "completeable" missions.

Normally I'd consider this to be a very stupid question, but since this game is not for sale anywhere anymore unless you get a used copy, do I have to have a legit, non-cracked version of this game in order to use x-coop? I don't have a retail copy, though I'd be very happy to purchase one if steam put it up for download or something. I bought Aliens vs Predator classic 2000 from steam, and would LOVE to have an official copy of the second one as well, but unless I buy a used copy from amazon or something, I have no other way of obtaining one, so I'm pretty **** out of luck for now. I do have an unofficial copy, however, and would love to play online with a buddy of mine, but I can't get the coop mod to work since it says I can't connect to the internet. I tried taking out the crack and using the original exe file, but whenever I open that, it just tells me it can't find the disc, even with the disc inserted. No idea why I can't get it working, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd be very happy to hear them. Thank you.
