GENERAL INFO-------------------
This is a Mod / Total conversion project based on the very popular megaman X and rockman series games. It is being developed to play using the Q3 engine, but has been heavily modified to include many new, exciting features. There has been alot of planning and design originality implemented into the gameplay already. Things like: Fully Customized character models and animations, 5 playable characters, Over 40+ weapons and attacks, A functioing Upgrade system with a list of player modifications, Custom Music and sounds, new levels, menu system and more. By the time the project is finished we want to see finished things like: Custom Designed Saber System for melee fighters, New item entities, Special FX's like dynamic lighting and an interactive environment, New music tracks, A working Ride Armour system with a basket full of other awsome game modes to play online.
Alot of work has been focused into creating a similar gameplay system based on the original games and incorporating it into the Quake 3 3D subspace. It will be a very diverse and creative universe once all is finished.
GAMEPLAY--------------------------------
X-Buster will be available free as an online multiplayer platform and will include some intresting gameplay modes to test, train and master your skills as your favorite Mega Man character. Its not just primarily about destorying your opponant, in X-Buster, you will have to learn to play with strategy and use the custom upgrade system to enchance your players abilities in Combat, Mouvement, and Player Essentials like Health, Energy, and Special Functions. Some upgrades are required if you want to reach certain areas of the level or to benifit you during combat, you decide which style suits you and devlop through the match.
There are 4 character classes in this game and the characters are grouped into them based on their fighting style and personal attributes. I really can't list all of their differences, but you will be happy to know that each class will include their own set of custom attacks/weapons. The Melee class will be setup with powerful melee attacks which can be combined for deadly combos. (sabers)
CLASSES:
1 - Charge: Characters like Mega Man X who can charge energy and fire larger projectiles.
2 - Rapid : Characters like Forte, who can fire successive projectile blasts.
3 - Buster: Characters like Reg Mega Man who rely on a smaller version of the X-Buster.
4 - Melee: Characters like Zero, who fight with a light saber.
This is a very basic outline of the classes atm, but I can tell you..there is a nice variety of features for each and work is still being done to extend the possibilities we wish to see working.
LEVELS----------------------------------
Anyone who has played through any of the Mega Man games can expect to see some very interesting design concepts and functionality. The challenge of recreating these levels into the quake 3 structure map is definately what were hoping for in X-Buster. You will see areas in the map with special items, but unable to reach them because you do not have a certain upgrade, you will see areas that of high resource and wish to remain there to protect it and resupply.
HISTORY--------------------------
X-Buster is actually an ongoing developemt project started somtime 6 years ago. Through those years we have had many things happen that almost canceled production and ended our game, but as fate would have it, we persisted and have all come along way. The X-B you see today from the ingame pics and current media was created by only a few very talented members, 5 to be exact, with the help from alot of people, for support, direction, advise and other relative things.

Eclipse - Model contribution back 2003 I believe.
Xan - Level design back in 2003-04, 1 finished level.

whoa i almost forgot about this page! lol. welp..we have a lot more done than last time i posted here..(6 months ago?) maps are comin around nicely, models are almost all done, and we're gettin ready for a build (about time!). BUT..what we're really lackin in is code (the mod maker's worse nightmare) and sounds. other than that we're almost ready for a build. so..to anyone who still cares..we're still workin on it!

ALSO i have told the staff to not bother you guys, but SPITE what i say they seem drawn to annoy you, so im sorry if they post on here, i dont hate u donx, i have no bad feelings against u waht so ever, and i wasnt planning on that stuff happening, but trust me, its not permanent. and like u said, ur material is urs and pars is pars and par has given us full rights to his source code work from x-buster. so dont go getting mad at us for using it, get mad at him for letting us.
sorry man, but u hadnt done anything public for 3 months, didnt make urself seen, if u dont do that people will automatically suspect that u have went mia. so dont get mad at me cause i just said what alot of ppl were thinking. AND dont blame ur losses on other people, ur the leader, ur supposed to make it work spite what people in ur mod do, if someone leaves, do some pr and find another member to replace them.
In case anyone hasnt noticed, the X-buster website has been switched over to the new gamespy server.
Its working correctly now, so check it out. I'll be updating the news and uploading some new clips of ingame matches very soon.
Geez...How sad is it that people have to debase others to make themselves feel better about themselves. I dont need to explain myself to you (MMA) and I really see no reason why you think you have the right to post on our board with useless, critical bull shit. Go away if thats what you feel ! Honestly...Not one here respects anythign you say in the first place, not after the amount of bad mouting and sheer disloyalty you've shown.
I havnt abbandoned anyone you jackass, in case you didnt realise it, X-Buster was a team of like 5 people to begin with, we all basically stopped production after Shinster left. So please do not blame me if your upset about this because Im just as upset. Were not purposely trying to withhold the release any longer then it needs to be, Im even starting to think that if somthing doesnt happen soon, maybe we can distribute our more recent build for the fans sake. We would have all been overjoyed to have finished it last year and see people playing it online and such.
And Listen, atleast I've been working on things in the meantime, updating my models, sfx, animations and some of those maps I made, which you guys use to brag about MMA. Just keep your negative comments to yourself, so that atleast, we can regain a bit of decency in this world.
i hate to say this but donx did it again, it seems he abandoned them AGAIN,no feply or anything for about 3 months or more..
.....imkongking lol whocares what they do...except for the fans...i am personally hoping that they can finish this...but just let them do x-buster. the standalone is going to be a total controvery. we are going to add in new models, maps, codes, menus, and etc...
why not join forces with the standalone? come to some agreements and compromises, because personally i think it would be much better in the long run
My intent has always been to finish X-Buster as a mod, and then modify the engine to add features that Q3 will not allow by default. Primarily in terms of eyecandy and memory limits. Most of this, however, hinges on the X-Buster project getting a coder.
you guys shoulda cleared that up at the beginning >_> well im glad to see xbuster not dead, but without a coder, things dont look to bright.. a coder is the backbone of a mod.. will you guys plan to go standalone as well or just stay as a mod for quake 3?
X-Buster isn't dead, Myself, and DonX Fully intend to see these two projects go their separate ways.
Right now, MM:A's release is effectively an older version of X-Buster with a TON of work done on the backend. Weapons, player models, and sfx are still courtesy of X-Buster.
