I'm not as clued up on the First World War as I am on the Second, but are Australasia, South-East Asia, South Africa and South America really necessary?

Actually, as far as I know, fighting only took places in Europe and Turkey so I'm not sure why you would need any other areas. I understand that Commonwealth Troops from around the British Empire were used (from India, Australia, Canada and New Zealand, amongst others) but they would simply be under the command of Britain. America fought too obviously, but it seems pointless having American on the map as no fighting was taking place there.

There was fighting elsewhere than Europe and Turkey. In Africa, the colonies were fighting an mobile war in jungles, in Pacific, Japan was capturing Germanys colonys.

You are also forgetting a important aspect. What if America did not step in? Then britain would have fallen with france, and what do you think the germans would have done then? They would have gone over the atlantic ocean. The game is about history, but you also have the power to change history. Fighting would have taken place in america at some point if the Americans haven't stepped in, in that moment they did.

sorry to point u out as wrong but the americans joined so late in the war, the germans were already broken and starving, the americans saw minimal combat during ww1. the germans were effectively already defeated by the french and british.

I wouldn't go that far.

Just because they joined the war late doesn't mean they couldn't have impacted key battles and don't forget that they supplied allied forces with goods well before they officially joined the war.

Americans ugh! the British and the French had already defeated the Central powers by 1917. The final march offensive in 1918 destroyed Germany's remaining combat strength. An offensive which involved negligible participation by the Americans. Sure, the Americans helped speed up the end of the war contributing large drafts of troops but the new combination of tactics, technology and the restructured allied command under Foch had already defeated the Germans. общие.яжкие i take your point that the Americans supplied Britain and France with money to stabilize their currencies and continue the war but the blockade imposed by the Grand Fleet crippled the Germans economically. B + F won!

Opinionated "fact"

Regardless the allies won the war no matter which way you try to spin it.

Edit: Just so you know this is WW1:TW not WW1 recreation.

I think your wrong. The normal games campaign was built so badly that the only way to be successful was to do what your nation did in reality, the game punishes you if you don't (I tried many, many times).

let's see, since I made a term paper about US in WW1, I'll correct mistakes. First, USA joined the war because german subs sunk US ships, which means that trading should definitely have USA. Second, American military forces, and most imporantly SUPPLIES. arrived in europe in late 1917-early 1918. But before they were on the front line, the germans made a huge offensive thanks to reinforcements that came from the eastern front after russia made a peace treaty. The german offensive had pushed the front line the farthest in the war. It was the due to AMERICAN reinforcements and supplies that the allies stopped the offensive and had the manpower to launch a counteroffensive where almost every british and french division had an american division supporting them. USA lost over 100,000 men fighting in the last year of the war. Historians have proven that american involement in the war changed the outcome of the war for both sides.

yes of course "historians proved" it even though the debate continues between historians, you are a narrow minded fool. I simply voiced my opinion. And obviously if thats your evidence for the americans won the war you must have got a bad mark on that term paper. 100,000 men is nothing compared with the losses of Britain and France. You're one ****** up mother-******* ****!!

I actually got an A, and my professor was english. You can disagree with me, but don't be immature. The german offensive of 1918 was launched prematurely because they wanted to attack before american reinforcements could be stationed along the front. If the US didn't send troops or was involved in the war, the germans would have time to coordinate their forces better and make better preparations for their offensive. I'm not saying that Britain and France couldn't win the war on their own, but they would've had a much harder time had the US not stepped in. I agree that the allies lost too many men in this stupid war, but all nations involved deserve the same respect for the sacrifices they made to put an end to the war.

i don't agree with what you said in your previous comment the Germans would have won if the US had stepped in. Your new comment is, in my opinion (stressed), correct. Sorry about the rudeness :)
and you did say that Britain and France couldn't win on their own!

Another factor that is constantly overlooked when learning about WW1, was the influenza outbreak across Europe that killed more people than the war did. It was Americas late entry that you could say saved Europe, since their troops had not yet been in contact with carriers and therefore where far more effective. But to say that America ultimately won the war is a true statement, after the Great War both the British Empire and French were soo far in debt to the U.S. that there economies; their currency would've collapsed. It is said that this is when The U.S. assumed Britain's role as the World's superpower.

Considering it took four years to kill off roughly 800,000 Brits, 100,000 Americans lost in the fray is pretty bad. Stop trolling, stop insulting my country you *******.

Exactly. Some people seem to forget the entire point of the Total War genre, and that it isn't a recreation of events, but allows the user to have there own twist on them. Instead the concentrate on arguing about history. Way to support the mod guys.

That's because Americans did not favor trench warfare, they preferred to rush no man's land and attack the trenches. Obviously, the entrenched enemy slaughtered US troops that were charging their lines.

What would be cool is if you could expand the European map so that France is split up into 15 regions, Germany into 15 regions, Russia into 30 etc etc.

Now that Killed_By has posted, forget this idea.

Because they just let 100 thousand of their people die to save other countries? Doesn't that deserve at least some credit instead of saying: "No, all you did was useless, we didn't need you".

Dude, he's right, I just hate it, it's the same as with WW2, they entered when the end was already clear, and now we hear about their great ''war involvements''... I mean really, 100k are nothing compared to the numbers of dead French and English people. Same with Russians in WW2.

And yea btw, let people express their opinion, no need to report them because of that.

OK, all that "USA come at the end of the war bla blah blah" crap is just stupid. It's not the American that came at the end of the war, it's the end of the war that HAPPENED thanks to the American reinforcements! Wake up! It wasn't written anywhere that the end of the war was GOING to be that date... IT HAPPENED BECAUSE the american get on European soil with fresh troops and supplies!

Admit it. The USA saved us in both world wars. Why does nobody want to admit that we needed help and without the US we would of starved in the trenches, broken and just waiting to get kicked back into the channel by the Central powers.
The US supplied us well and let us keep up the fight. When they joined in they didn't lose as many men because they had different tactics instead of the European's brilliant idea... "WALK TOWARD THE MACHINE GUNS LADS! DON'T RUN, DON'T CRAWL, DON'T FIRE A SHOT UNTIL YOU'RE IN THE TRENCHES."
Instead the US troops would go into no mans land, get contact from the enemy trenches and pick them off with great sharpshooting skills.

The end of the war in this seance is the last desperate offensive of the German army in the western front.

To say that the American forces "saved" the allies is not correct in my opinion. The involvement of the American troops towards the counter offensive of France and Briton was very useful no doubt, though arguably not crucial. In certainly influenced German's surrender. But I do not believe that Germany could have defeat Briton in the condition they were in at the time.

The British army at this time had no tested method of dealing with machine guns and the tactics were quite frankly pre-imperialist style.
The American armed forces in Europe were still using tactics used mainly in the Spanish American war. the Americans still used frontal assaults by massed troops mirroring the silly British and French tactics.

I will answer why we're annoyed about it, its because people are jealous. I admit I am jealous of America. I wish sometimes that my country, the United Kingdom, were so big and powerful that it didn't need to worry about the world around them at all.

EDIT: There are other reasons aswell, but this is one of the main ones.
