Hey there, fellow trenchrats, have a glance at our February/March update!

In this update we have collected some of the work we’ve been producing over the past 2 months to make up for the lack of a media update on the 2 year anniversary for WW1:S.

We are sorry for the lack of updates lately, but we hope this one will make up for it:

To start off
, I guess we could show you some neat conceptart from our own JesusFood, study it for a bit, it's art afterall. It’s said a picture can paint a thousand words, Ashton only managed to get about 870 before he gave up, though English isn’t his first language so we think he can be forgiven.

We have a new full set of character models
... once again. The British Infantry, British Officer and German Infantry/Officer model have been made by Volcol. We’re striving for authenticity on these and they should be accurate. The new models should fit the DoD:Source rig perfectly, which means easily intergrated animations but above all else, time saved on production. We’ll also be reviewing all the equipment, this includes the webbing, pouches, caps, helmets and gasmasks – etc etc:

To go with the new playermodels we've had some great facial models contributed by Kehl (Adam Harrison). I can promise you guys straight off the bat that we have some big plans for these:

An addition to the game, we’re also very happy with, and we know alot of you have been waiting for. Moustaches. Yea, you read that right, moustaches.

Volcol
has also made a neat little piece for some closequarter combat in the trenches, the Trenchclub. Go ahead, crack some skulls with this badboy, and have fun, we’ll let you imagine the sound effects for the time being:

Now, allow us to introduce our newest member Johan "Strayferret" Streiffert. He'll be serving as one of our modelers, and his first piece of work really stunned us, our new MG08/15 which is almost ready to be implented in the game:

Next up we have some animations for various weapons that ChrisTanky and NicolayW has made, be sure to subscribe to their youtube channels to maybe get teaser/WIP animations for WW1:S earlier than others! Please watch them in HD!

Ashton
has been working on another map for the mod, the goal for this map is to illustrate the stalemate on the western front, as both sides have really dug in deep with complex trenches. The players will need to advance through fog and barbed wire, capture a farmhouse and eliminate the enemies in their trenches. Say hello to 'ww_artois'

Jobs:
We’re really needing a Sound engineer right now, so if you’re willing to help us out please apply by PM.
A breif description of the roll:Ability to create weapon audio, battlescapes/ambient audio and general audio for things like movement (footsteps, equipment shuffling)

We should have our next update out mid April, so until then keep watching this space!

Newest Invalid Steam ID Fix for anyone having it. I went with the easiest old ways of deleting the (Client Reg Blob and User Data) but that didnt work. Even deleting the config folder no longer works. So, Instead of doing the SURE FIRE way of deleting everyhting, I too the time to delete as little as I could but still get the error to go away and this is what I got. Hope you guys enjoy:

Try uninstalling one more time and then download from here: Moddb.com

Download the pink option (not the blue Desura option) and install from that method instead with the desktop installer. Pay attention to what path the installer wants to install in. If you own a 64-bit computer or have all your steam folders and games in a different area of your computer like another harddrive, you MUST make sure that the installer is pointing to where all your other stuff is. I have a 64 bit rig and on testing this I saw that the installer did not point to my 64-bit path, it only pointed to "Program Files", not "Program Files (x86)" which is where my steam folder is located.

(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods)

After re-installing, restart your steam and open your library. Then try to play WW1 Source again. Let me know if this worked.

I think it may have something to do with the AppID that is set in the files steam.inf and gameinfo.txt, because i tried changing those to the same appid as HL2 (which is 220) and the game started to run (for the first time)! However, i then got the error message "SetupArrayProps_R:array prop '(null)' is at index zero"
But, it did start to run. It said i was in-game and everything and i even saw the menu picture before i got the error.

One person I talked to who had similiar problems didnt have his "Source SDK Base 2007" installed in his tools menu. Maybe another steam "update" did something from the WW1 Source launcher from forcing the user to download and install it. But anywho, check to see if that is installed.

Did you guys change your path? It should be installed in Steam/Steamapps/sourcemods/WWI_Source (Note that is a "I" and not a one). I mean we see new players weekly so if its just a very select few who are having this problem something makes me suggest it was user error (and dont take that the wrong way of course, believe me, plenty of brand new players play every week. Plus when it comes to EVERY single Total War mod Ive installed over the past 6 years I still manage to mess something up each time. It happens to everybody). Also, you must already have a previous source game installed whether it be HL2, TF2, or DODS. Other than that and what I suggested in my previous post Im all out of guesses here. Maybe some screenshots of your install folder as you are reinstalling and a screenshot of where you installed the mod to would help.

I don't mean to bring you down, but I found this mod pretty dreadful in its current state. Your attempt at realism by forcing the player to "pull the bolt" every time you shoot is annoying but I guess some people will like it. The Officers' ability to drop toxic gas and artilery is terrible. It's very frustrating to get killed randomly, and it adds nothing of value to the gameplay. The biggest problem I had when playing was really the red effect when you get hit. It paints nearly your entire screen…
