Modern Warfare Mod brings World in Conflict from the Cold War into the Modern Age. It also ups the ante on realism and authenticity in every role – Infantry, Armor, Support and Air, while trying our best to keep everything relatively balanced for fun and interesting gameplay.
Concept testing new programming logic that guides tactical ballistic missiles.
Not quite perfect given the constraints of game engine, but works alright for a trade-off.
Don't work on this on Christmas D: ! xD
But nice work anyways lol
DO want!
I love ballistic missiles. I really do.
This is the ultimate Christmas gift.
Lol, out of ammo.
But how do you follow a unit, what the keyboard key?
I believe you double click on the icon of the unit you want to follow on the bottom left of the screen.
what ballistic missile launchers are you going to be using?
9K79 Tochka and MGM-168 ATACMS
@ blahdy
ive never heard of the tochka. how different is the mgm 168 from the mgm 140, or are they essentially the same thing?
(sorry, reply button screwed up)
NATO designation for 9K79 would be SS-21 Scarab.
MGM-168 brings improved guidance package iirc, designed for pin-point accuracy for infantry + on-demand long range fire support; it is similar to M30/M31 munitions vs. the cold-war era M26 cluster munition rockets used for normal rocket loadout, the difference being is that MGM-168 is a ballistic missile with extensive range compared to MLRS arty rockets.
ah, gotcha. how does it compare to more well-known russian designs like the frog-7 and scud-c?
ok, thanks. i had only heard of the mgm 140. will the atacms be a special ability for the vanilla m270 or will it be a new unit like the himars (just for variety)?
thanks for the info
ATACMS will be on a separate M270 you purchase using TA.
SS-21/9K79 Tochka is short-range (120km or so) tactical ballistic missile, but is also pretty accurate. It's been used by Russians as recently as 2008 invasion of Georgia.
SS-21 Tochka and SS-23 Oka have been produced to replace the Scud. SS-23 is similar to Tochka but long ranged to deliver nukes long way -- Russians claimed 400km for Oka, Americans claimed it is even longer ranged but being lied to by the Soviets. So while SS-23 is the long ranged variant, SS-21 Tochka is the short range version.
SS-23 Oka has been subsequently been retired during late 80's in accordance with INF Treaty.
SS-26/9K720 Iskander is the new modern replacement of Scud to re-fill the gap created by retirement of SS-23 Oka.
Holy crap! That's brutal!
