Modern Warfare Mod brings World in Conflict from the Cold War into the Modern Age. It also ups the ante on realism and authenticity in every role – Infantry, Armor, Support and Air, while trying our best to keep everything relatively balanced for fun and interesting gameplay.

In multiplayer matches I saw HUGE numbers of missiles launched per air threat, WAY higher then the two intended. For example I got my Apache hit by one missile from a cluster of atleast* 5, the 4 others went ballistic and hit the ground, a moment after another cluster came from another direction towards the spot my apache occupied before, then they also went ballistic. Also, they are not just a graphical bug since the explosion from the ground impact damaged a newly spawned (and undetected) helicopter.

*(hard to tell the exact number due the high speed)

This my friend, is not a bug. It's not real, it just shows up on YOUR computer, and only on multiplayer.

I am renaming your ridiculous post. We tested the Heavy SAMs on mutliplayer for months, so don't come rushing through like you've discovered this huge big bug.

Thank you, please come again.

I just guessed it was cuased by the admins crappy computer (so the script doesn't work or something) and you guys just tested it on better ones ;)

Though I gotta have ear plugs if I'm gonna play multiplayer, if you have the camera next to the impact spot (for some unfortunate reason...)

Also I didn't find it posted in the bugs section (though saw it later on the discussion page)

That's cos it's not a bug, it's just like lag (when I say this I don't mean the problem is lag, I mean the problem is as much of a bug as lag is).

The reason why it happens is because of proximity fuse code.

Even though there is actually 1 missile fired on the target, when proximity fuse generator code runs, the client game connected to a multiplayer server gets totally confused and ends up rendering phantom, duplicate projectiles for the entire radius of proximity fuse explosive blast.

This only happens if you connect to someone else's server; if you host the game yourself, the missile is properly rendered as 1 missile.

We're looking at possible fixes in longer term, but for now, it is what it is.
