The Bug:

When playing with or against an infantry bot, the bot will excessively spawn "Mechanized Infantry" transports, often spawning this two-vehicle unit in a three or four unit ratio to a single unit of infantry (resulting in upwards of eight vehicles for every one squad of infantry). Combined with the bots' tendency to not dismount infantry in combat, it results in "infantry" bots having more vehicles on the field than any other bot, with almost no actual unmounted infantry involved.

How to Recreate:

1. Set up a LAN or Internet game including at least one infantry bot, on any difficulty (with any advanced option configuration)
2. Observe. Bug is most noticeable when AI spawns fresh troops during battle.

this is normal, part of the ai code to follow mechanized infantry doctrine usually a few inf transports guarded by a local air defense vehicle

So, its intentional to have the AI not use dismounted infantry at all? Considering the awesome work put into the unmounted infantry and anti-infantry weapons and tac' aids, this would be a shame. Not even having a back-door method to force the AI to adopt unmounted infantry tactics is something which strikes me as odd. Options are always good, but I guess the mod is what it is.

There's no debating that its far better than vanilla WIC, but considering the near-total lack of unmounted infantry, I cannot see this as anything other than a bug.

inf do dismount, they just do not do it often unless at command points usually, i have lost many a tank to at inf who have dismounted. They stay in vehicles to protect themselves and move faster than walking, almost no benefits to staying outside of a vehicle on the attack

I'm just trying to say that the fact that the bots ONLY do this one strategy is something which strikes me as odd. It just doesn't seem right that an "infantry" doctrine, when controlled by AI, employs more transports than infantry, all the time. It really just seems... weird. Not right.

they follow a mechanized infantry doctrine so as i said before it is normal for the inf player to have a lot of transports. Their will be no inf just walking around as it is suicide
