White Night full release v1.1 This mod is a total conversion for Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Please read instructions carefully.
White Night v1.1
This is the full version of White Night, and with fixes of various bugs and mistakes.
If you are a first time player, please use this version and do no use other versions from other mirrors.
White Night is a game for immersion.
-If you are searching for a game full of monsters, this is not for you. White Night relies on psychological horror more than cheap scares.

any way later on you could make an exe icon that loads the game instead of the bat file. be nice to have a sexy icon than a bat shortcut
Create a shortcut and change the icon to one of your chosing. I just used Amnesia's icon, inverted.
For MAC users:
On a mac you open the terminal and then you can type (assuming you installed Amnesia in Applications):
open /Applications/Amnesia.app --args wn_config/main_init.cfg
You can also use Applescript and create bat like launcher:
Go to Applications/Utilities and start the AppleScript Editor then type:
do shell script "open /Applications/Amnesia.app --args wn_config/main_init.cfg"
and save as... Application and then it is good to go.
It doesn't work. It opens Amnesia, but the custom story is not there.

I am using Amnesia through steam and have a mac. I tried using the terminal/macscript, but that doesnt work. Can anyone who has steam and a Mac OS please help

ok so installed it with the zip thingy first when you drag everthing to the root file and now i cant open my opions my profile names arent showing and my custom stories i cant open either so then i installed it with desura and still the same thing but now i can play white night at least help plz

Can't get it to work, the BAT file never extracts to the redlist folder like its supposed to....Sucks I really wanted to play it.
Okay I got it to download right but now it says "could not load main init file: wn_config/main_init.cfg....help plz?
Can Someone make a video or something on how to install this? i did like he said, but it dosen't really work :( i get the normal loading screen, and not the mod :S
Use Desura if you are having problems installing the mod.

I have the same problem as leandrofrodo. When I open the door to the hospital, the game closes and a popup reading the same as leandrofrodo said appears. What can i do to solve this? I so wanna continue playing the game!!! Please help
FOR EVERYONE WHO CANNOT OPEN WHITE NIGHT IN AMNESIA!!! READ!! When you exctract the files for White_Night.rar/.zip, then you have to go to the folder in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\amnesia the dark descent" for steam users, and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Amnesia - The Dark Descent\redist" for direct buyers and Redist buyers. FOR STEAM USERS! Go to that specified folder, and then DON'T click the "custom_stories", but instead click the "White_Night.bat". It doesn't say .bat in the end, but you know how the icon will look like, I know you will... But enough of the scary ped0 )#"=, the redist buyers will have to find in the specified folder too. After that, it will say "Couldn't load main init file: wn_config/main_init.cfg" And I haven't come further. Tanshaydar have to complete my full instruction from now on.

Gah! please help me I need a dumb mans way to install this on a Mac OS X version 10.6.8. I understand how to install the mod if amnesia was in my applications, but its not. I have it installed through steam! Please tell me theres still a way to get this mod working. :/ I've been trying for several hours and really want to play it!
You need to find your Amnesia installation folder. I don't use Mac, so I don't know how. The solution I wrote down wasn't mine either.
I am yet to play this game, do you think i should play the Original first & then install mods and play them after iv completed Original ??
When playing mods, I think it's always much better to finish the original game first.
For White Night, finishing original game will get you familiar with gameplay, puzzles and etc., so I highly recommend you to finish original game first. Then this mod will be a somewhat familiar yet refreshing experience for you. I hope you enjoy it!

Check the tutorial. ".bat" file comes with the download as always.
I DID IT! FINALLY IS RUNNING ON MY MAC! (the guide just say "Right click amnesia.app and choose Show Package Contents" yeah, so next what if i'm not using steam?) just put EVERY SINGLE FILE in their respective folder, then, do the applescript stuff (do shell script "open /Applications/Amnesia.app --args wn_config/main_init.cfg") it should work. Work for me :D
