Wheels of War
With Wheels of War, we want to bring back the awesome feeling when playing Carmageddon all those years ago - the initial racing, the wasting of other cars, collecting power-ups, insane stunts and running over zombies. There will be powerups/powerdowns, a credits system, upgradable cars (via armour, offensive, and engine characteristics), checkpoint style racing (i.e, ability to roam), destructable cars, and a stunts system. Note that this is not a port/clone or rip of Carmageddon. We are taking it's single player concept, evolving it to multiplayer, and creating a whole new environment for it to exist in.
A game design document has been released to the public on the website focusing on our Free For All Campaign game mode here.
We have many other modes planned, but our first alpha release will focus on this one.
Features of Interest (Note: All are not available yet, but will be implemented in due course):
Partial Changelog:
Maps:
* Race Mode Maps Added:
o Valley
o Slipgate
* Quarry 3rd checkpoint (small) indicator lamp brought closer to main checkpoint as it did not reflect the checkpoint trigger point correctly.
Vehicles:
* Added Optimus Crime SKULLS!
* Added Waroeels
* Added Wee-Evil
* Vehicle handling (hopefully) improved a bit
wowGameRulesDMCampaign:
* No Changes.
wowGameRulesRace:
* Initial Version.
* Ranked stats servers.
* Hud shows current time, best lap, last lap.
* Hud shows number of completed laps, instead of current lap as per DM mode.
* Scoreboard shows best lap instead of XP.
* Vehicles do not collide with each other.
* No credits awarded for laps/checkpoints.
* Powerups are disabled.
Ranked Stats Servers:
* si_wowStatsGUID
* si_wowGSPLicence
* Ranked Server cvars are not locked, but if they do not conform to regulations then stats are simply not sent.
* Only Dedicated Internet Servers and lan servers which have forced auth.
Website:
* Stats Centre for global and per-server race laps.
* GSP centre for adding and modifying server details.
* GSP Licence Request area.

Friends, Romans and Countrymen, lend me your ears! I bring news of zombie killing carnage and sheer all round fun!
Wheels of War is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Community Manager, a somewhat shady fellow known only by the unpronounceable name of ‘Tsujigiri’, he’ll be your first point of contact if for example you’re interested in becoming a server partner for our upcoming Public Alpha release!
Yes, it’s coming, soon! An alpha for your enjoyment and viewing pleasure!
He’s also your first point of contact for any community related matters, got a problem or question?
Then bring it to Tsujigiri so he can laugh and point!!!
We also have a new coder working for the team, slaving over a hot PC to make the Wheels of War turn, a big welcome to ‘Black’ who will serve his period of indentured bondage under the whip of Domipheus the Master of the Wheels!
As we have a lot of interest in our mod from our German speaking friends we have also kidnapped, I mean ‘recruited’ a German Liaison ‘Gomf’ lately of Clan SDR and then eQ Fame who will help with in game translations and German community implementation.
We are looking for server partners to host our upcoming Alpha release and mirrors for the file. If you can help, and if you want to help then grab Tsujigiri on IRC Quakenet in #WheelsOfWar.
You need to have Flash and Javascript running in your browser to see this player.

Damn this looks nice, but why did you pick ETQW for the engine? I traded in my copy of that game because it nobody plays it online >_<
Quake Rally ;)
As i said in a previous post, This mod has huge potential.
I know that it's still in early stages of dev, but I hope it will be very stylish. with Duke Nukem-like voices.. and a crazy apocalyptic atmosphere =)
Wish you all the best, will keep an eye (maybe both of them) on this mod, and have a great new year, hoping that 2008 will bring lots of good things ;)
Thankyou for the support, have a great new year - we will try not to dissapoint you in the coming months :)
gets my vote .. LaVaGoD is on the dev team , so I know it's gonna be good.
HOLY SHIT.This is just fucking sexy.Too nice for a mod
We have yet to create a low poly driver model. At the moment the cars dont have a driver in them - It's about the cars, these small things can come later.
The screenshot in the Optimus Crime news post is in-game, and there were people driving those cars, even if you cant see them!
They're demonstration models. Stupid.
The cars are actually in-game and drivable, it's just as stated above we have yet to make the driver to put in the vehicle :)
Just to expand on what NSCXP2005 says, we will not have bots, but do intend to allow offline play to practise stunts and get a feel for different vehicle handling. Even the ability to increase the number of zombies and drive around trying to run them over if you want :)
