"What Remains" is a Fallout1/2 total conversion based on the FOnline Engine, using assets of Fallout 1/2. It is a singleplayer game and rather focusses on more linear, deep storytelling, then an open sandbox world. The game will take place in the area of the Great Lakes in the postapocalyptical USA, the years which passed after the great war can be counted on a few hands and toes, so one can assume not much time passed since then. It will be a big part of the game to just survive, try to come by, to be part of this harsh world.

Thanks AudioGhostX ! I usually create a small heightmap in a 3d program first and experiment with ground textures. When I am fine with a texture combination I found, I "draw" soil, snow or those paths you can see there on it in photoshop. Then I look at the existing Fallout scenery art and look which ones could be added to the "scene". When I am done with this, I render new stuff (the trees, grass or this container you can see there) and draw shadows in Photoshop manually. Then I export the map into lots of smaller images, import it into my mapper tool and implement text descriptions and such to the objects I place. Most time consuming thing is always to cut the images and import it to my tools. =)

Very desolate and beautiful.
Truly a step above fallout.

The electricity poles don't have shadows... Not like I'm saying this looks bad, but just wanted to point it out for no reason.

Also, is the "black and white"-ish filter actually real-time or is it just added on top of the picture? Looks great nonetheless!

Just noticed that many of the shadows have different directions. :)

But it looks astonishing anyway, don't waste your time re-doing it, just make more! Really looking forward to play this, the most beautiful thing so far created on the FOnline engine.

A new screenshot of a location I am still working on at the moment, you should know parts of it from an older screenie. I wanted to show how locations, graphics and look change over time.
