Western Quake³ is intended to be a semi-realistic simulation of the "Old West's" great atmosphere. This Total Conversion includes completely new weapons created with historically correct information about damage, rate of fire, reload time etc. It also includes new gametypes and maps inspired mostly from movies. And to increase the feeling of a "Gunslingers Atmosphere" we also have created music tracks and sounds adapted to the simulated times.

This looks fantastic. :D I always loved games with a Western setting because of the sheer potential for interesting set pieces such as a steamboat.

Absolutely love it. I can remember countless days spent fragging bots in Wanted HL and hopefully this time I'll be able to frag a few real guys too. Hopefully AI opponents are also planned since my roommate and I generally play together on LAN with some of those lil guys, but even if they're not the quality on this mod is quite good and I can't wait to get my hands on it. The only criticism that comes to mind is that the man seems to bring his knees up to his chest every time he takes a step in some areas. Is he crouching?

Yes, bots are included but they aren't very bright. They aren't much more than target practice in most of the levels. Setting them to maximum skill makes their aim deadly though. But they could use some better AI for sure.

WQ3 doesn't have a big player base at the moment, but we hope to change that with the release of the SA. Even now, the chances of meeting live players on the servers isn't too bad. A lot of the veteran players watch server activity closely & join when they see people on.

You only see the legs of your player when you are looking down. However, you don't have to look down as far when you are crouched to see them. Sort of true to real life. Some people like this feature of the game & some don't.

Thank you very much for your feedback! :)

Description

Steamboat was a nearly complete level by Lixus of Iron Claw Interactive. He passed it on to me in good faith. After months of testing, tweaking & refinement it appears that Steamboat is nearly finished. This unique level is planned for release with the standalone game, Smokin' Guns.
