Waterbridge is a small, focused total conversion for Unreal Tournament 3. The game is a first person exploration horror game; the game play comes from exploring and interacting with the game's environment. My friend described it as "Myst meets The Ring." It is also my senior project, though I would like to keep working on it after I've graduated.
So I've received a fair amount of pretty understandable skepticism about my release date of May 1st. Let me clarify what I mean by "release date." This game is sort of like my undergrad equivalent of a thesis, if I don't have SOMETHING playable by May1st I won't graduate. That's not to say that the entire game will be done by the 1st; I don't think I'll ever consider waterbridge to be "done." I would just like to have at least 1 level that is fully playable done by the first.
Speaking of which, I should mention that I plan on releasing this total conversion episodically. My first goal it to make a waterbridge "game mode" for UT3 which will only be able to play on waterbridge-type maps. The maps I release for this mod can be played in any order, but they do have an intended order. I'm working from the example of the fantastic flash-based adventure game MOTAS
Amazing !!!!!!!1 I hope is not dead :(
hey dude iv been waiting for this mod what happend? its kinda late.....
Bit of a long story. Instead of wanting the game to be done on the 1st, my professors got really interested in the documentation I was making on the side. I worked the last couple of weeks on that instead of on the game. The professors liked, but as I was about to go back to working on Waterbridge, another of the crazier profs demanded I write up an entire portfolio and about a dozen extra papers. I only got caught up with all that mess today and I'm taking today off. I'll get back to work soon.
It would suggest you add some white lights to increase the atmosphere. The gray fog is a good thing. Maybe add some paintings and holes or rotten wood pieces. Good luck with your project!
That's good advice. I'll probably do that.
looks pretty nice. i'll track.
looks far off, but interesting.
Firsties!
